Arrival Story:
I adopted this cat from a country vet when she was about 10 months old. When I got her home, I put her down and she started following me immediately.

One of the many good things about her is the fact that she can tell when I am upset or sick. She will practically sit on top of me. One time I coughed and she immediately jumped onto me (while I was laying down) She is a very sweet animal, bad and will talk back when told "no", but very sweet and caring as far as animals go. We have been through a lot of moving and some tough times and I think that we are as close as a human and feline can get. You can tell by the fact that she has total trust in me, which she doesn't have with anyone else. Unfortunately, on October 8th 2008, we had to put our beloved Pepper down. Her weight has gone from 11 lbs to 8 lbs, in September, to 6.5 lbs in October. I made the tough decision to put her out of her misery. :(

I found out after a ton of $(tests,x-rays, etc.) that there isn't anything apparent other than kidney problems. Pepper can live a long life as long as she gets fluids through a needle from the vet tech twice a week. I am soooo relieved. :)

Pepper was found to have kidney failure to some extent last week. She has lost some weight and is dehydrated. I freaked out at first since she is my first pet that didn't swim and cost $2.00. She still has a lot of fight left in her as proven by the fact that it took the vet, assistant and I to give her a first dose of sub q fluids. The second attempt by me and my husband failed. She does have somewhat of an appetite and is being fed smaller portions at more times than the 2 times she was fed before. Hopefully, we will have the results from her blood test tomorrow to confirm her condition and see if and how much her liver is damaged.
