Thanks so much for the purrs and pop and advice. I am blessed to know so many smart, compassionate kitties with real good purrers. I went to the vet for more fluids this morning. I got a shot for nausea while I was there. Mum got the prednisolone in me this morning but I wouldn't eat breakfast. When I got home from the vet I ate a little bit though :) Mum knows the tricks to get me to eat because of Misha's illness. Kidney and pancreas problems are new to us.
My x ray results are mysterious. When looking down towards my spine all of my intestines are on one side.We cant see my spleen or pancreas. What is on the "empty" side is the mysterious part. The vet and my mum are afraid what could be there. If I felt better, I would have joked that all those kittens i had pushed my stuff over hehee.
Well, time for a nap. Please keep purring that I will feel like eating.I shouldn't have any throw ups today cuz of the shot. Thanks, dear furinds.
Sweetie there's nothing mysterious at all about X-rays not showing the pancreas and spleen! Those organs are hidden behind the stomach and cannot be seen through x-rays! You must have an ultrasound done for that. I'm surprised your vet doesn't know that. Have you had an ultrasound done? When they tested your blood did they send it out for a PLI for pancreatic enzymes? That will also show what's going on in your pancreas.
Yes, I had a PLI and my enzymes aren't right but mostly it's my bun that's troublesome. It is real high.Creatine is high too. Potassium is low. We talked about an ultrasound and also an abdominal centesis. Just to get a little fluid to see if it is full of lymphocytes.I have a pouch of fluids around my belly. My x rays from the side look ok. Looking down from the top, everything is pushed to one side. Thanks for looking in on me Alex. I will get my numbers if that will help.
No, that's okay Molly. I do better with symptoms than the actual numbers. That is very odd then to have everything pushed to the side. But I think that's all the more reason to have the ultrasound done. Low potassium definitely isn't good. Did he give you any medication for that? I wonder why you're retaining so much fluid! Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry about all of this. I'll sprinkle some angel dust on you and purr super hard. If I think of anything else that I can suggest I will definitely let you know. I do think though at least get the ultrasound done, so you have a better picture, literally, of what's going on down there.
Are you on anything for nausea as well? Nausea and acid reflux are a big problem with these two conditions. That may be why you don't want to eat. Has your vet told you that you could take pepcid a/c? I would also think he could have given you a pain med for all of this. That certainly would also stop you from eating.
Sending you big loud purrs all the way across the Big Pond!
Love & hugs Molly (our sweet little Pen Paws friend)

Thanks everybody. I feel a tiny bit better tonight. I did get a shot of cerenia today Alex. I am taking a potassium gel that is yucky. I get it in my fluids too. I go in tomorrow for more fluids. Thanks soo much for purring for me and stopping by my page.
Sending lots of purrs from all of us and hoping you feel better soon, Molly!
Oh good, it sounds like it helped you! We'll keep purring for you and please let us know how you feel tomorrow. Hope it's much better than today. XXOO
I'm purrrrring for you, Molly!
purrrrrrrrrrrrrr...purrrrrrrrrrrrr...purrrrrrrrrrr ...purrrrrrrrr ~ feel better soon Molly!
Continued purrs and lots of angel's dust for you, Molly! I'm glad you got that Cerenia shot - that's pretty good stuff, and should get you through the weekend at least. Alex is right about Pepcid - it does work for a lot of kitties who have kidney disease and other conditions that cause vomiting. I used it occasionally, and Pixie takes it every day - but it is not always advisable, so make sure you ask the vet first. I also think your explanation about the kittens pushing all your innards out of place is a great one! *lots of love*
We continue our purrs for you Molly....hope you will eat soon...and feel better!
Sending lots of purrs...
Molly I found out you were sick this morning and I've been purring for you ever since mate. Hope you feeling better soon.
Purring for you, from all of us Molly! Is your last name Malone? I think you're very pretty and gosh, I could just groom that coat.
I'd share my chicken with you! You like chicken?
Well, the Doc let me come in for fluids this morning. (Sunday) they are closed, but he was feeding the boarders and I am a good girl. I gave mum a hard time about going into the carrier and sat up and mewed and looked around a little during my fluids. I must be feeling better! I acted like a lump the first 2 times I got fluids. The pred does not seem to be helping my appetite yet. Mum has some pepsid for me. I walked myself out onto the sun porch about an hour ago and am enjoying my sun puddle. That is more normal behavior for me. Mum is happy I seem to be enjoying that. Thanks for you purrs everyone. They are working.
our purrs to you sweet one and our POTP!
we are here for you and your family!
My prednisolone is now cut in half. Yay! Less pills. I am eating some now. Not as well as mum would like but I come asking for food. Mum has some set out ..but I like her to feed me now. I eat a couple bites. I ask for more then I eat a bite then walk away. Like a little picky princess. I am cuddling a lot too. The vet still wants to check me for lymphoma. Maybe next week. Meanwhile, I feel better, mum is smiling at me and we are hanging out together. Thanks for the purrs everyone. I am glad to post a happy update.
YAAYYYYY!! That's pawsome news Molly. A paw in the right direction. We'll continue purring and thank you for the happy update.
So glad to hear your feeling better. We will be purring for you to keep improving and purring for your test next week.
Sending lots of love (and more purrs!).
