Arrival Story:
We went to Petco on 86th with some friends from out of town. We were planning on getting a fish. We'd only moved to the city four days prior, and figured a fish was the perfect new apartment pet. However, while looking around we noticed that the NYACC was sponsoring an event, and had kittens for adoption. We tried to stay away, knowing that we didn't need a kitten at that point in time, but they were right near the fish supplies. We wandered over and there we saw a litter of little orange and white balls of fur. They were so cute. So as I'm sure you can guess, we came home with a kitten and went back for the fish another day.

Bio:
Hermione's litter was found in a construction site in Manhattan. Their mother wasn't found at the time. The kittens were all under-weight and most, including Hermione had tar melted into their fur and onto thier skin. She had the tar on her for about a week. We took her to the vet, who removed it all. Her burns have healed and she's a happy, crazy, ever-growing kitten.
