A Final Update:

My husband and I had several family emergencies at the end of 2007 (his father passed away, my husband was in the hospital several times, I was laid off) and we took them over to my stepmom's house for a while until we got on our feet again and knew we would be home again. Unfortunately, our lives did not slow down. We finally made the decision to move back home to our families. Since we knew we could not take the babies with us (we were driving, they weren't fixed yet, and had never traveled) and we would not be able to have them in our home when we got to our families. So we made the decision to find them a home there in NC.

Last known info about them, they were happy and healthy. We can only hope and pray that they will continue to be that way for all of their nine lives.
