Arrival Story:
I adopted Cricket from the Larimer County Humane Society in Colorado. I had another cat picked out, his adoption card in my hand, and was heading to the lobby door when I paused and saw this calico cat sitting so primly and attentively in her cage. I pet her, held her, and then I took her home. Or tried to; she nearly escaped from the cardboard box we unceremoniously shoved her in for the ride. I had to fling my bookbag on the box while I was driving. Funny, she never grew to like napping in boxes as many cats do. She's a wonderful cat. I'm so glad that calicos are rumored to be long-lived.

Bio:
As the story goes, Cricket was a stray in a nearby trailer park. I don't believe it for a second. While she's one of the best lizard hunters I've ever met, she is a complete softy who loves contact and comfort. I just can't see her roughing it in a trailer park. She's great at winning over people who claim to not like cats. She's more like a dog; she comes when called, responds to her name and plays a version of fetch (I do most of the fetching). She greets people when they come home without fail, even when the dog doesn't. She is also famous for always needing to touch both my husband and me when we are on the couch.
