Orange Tabby

My human Granny. She is my favorite human actually.

Having to stay indoors, small children - ugh!

Favorite Toy:
Soft ball, wooden stick - I am going to kill that stick sometime, yeah.

Favorite Nap Spot:
On beds, on a soft pillow in front of the window, the heated shelf in winter.

Favorite Food:
Sheba and Whiskas

Call me Houdini! Doors and windows will not hold me for long! Here is my technique: I lie in wait close to the door and when someone enters or leaves I race out!

Arrival Story:
The year I was born Mom was working as a social worker in a house for homeless men. One day one of them saw me and my siblings in a petshop close by and, knowing how Mommie adored us furbutts, he offered to buy her one of us. So off to the shop they went and when they approached our cage I came to the bars and started meowing pitiously. It worked! Minutes later, I found myself in carton box and someone was carrying me away. Think I suffered that in silence? Well, think again! Of course I stuck my head out suddenly and scared Mom to death, hehe! The first of my many attempts to be an outdoor cat and not an indoor cat!

Unfortunately I was far from a healthy kitty, conditions in that petshop being what they were. Shortly after I came to live with Mom I fell dangerously ill but she took me to the most fashionable vet in Vienna and he pulled me through! Mom was so glad. And then things got really interesting: we moved!! I found myself on board a car and we went for miles and miles all the way from Vienna to Münster, Germany. I was very good and did not even make a sound when we passed the border, because I understood Mom had to hide me, fearing difficulties. Imagine having to spend some time in quarantine! But nothing happened and we reached our destination safely: a grand old house with lots and lots of rooms to explore and a garden she tried to keep from me. Well - not for long.

Forums Motto:
Orange tabbies rule!

Postscipt from Mom:
After he got over that first infection Richard was a healthy cat and the delight of the vet at his yearly check-ups. Then suddenly in his seventh year he started vomiting quite often and was obviously in pain. Eventually it turned out that he had cancer caused by feline leucosis
