R.I.P - Forever Loved

As of 05/02/2008 Noir Abbott has passed away. In February he was diagnoised with a heart condition known as HCM. It causes the walls of the heart to expand, reducing the amount of blood that the heart can pump and cutting off some of his oxygen pathways. He responded well to the initial treatments and medication, but after almost a month of normal activity, the situation got worse and his health rapidly decreased. The vet tried everything they could, but it turns out one of the medications he needed to help remove the excess fluid that was building up in his chest was also causing him to become dehydrated and thus caused liver damage. The vet sent him on his way and I said my final goodbyes at approximately 12:30pm on 05/02, two days before our birthday together. He has been buried at my roommate's father's place with a cross, some catnip, one of his favorite shirts, a picture of himself at his prime and one of his favorite addictions, a single cigarette. (No, he didn't smoke but would sniff cigs and the butts in the ashtray at times.)

Noir was the only reason I now call myself a 'cat person' and will forever have a place in my heart for him. He truely was my best friend and the one person I turned to during my stint with cancer and chemo.
