Hedwig's Worries

Getting an account on Catster...

I know of a lot of cats who live over a decade. I've only been around for six months, but I know I might die next year or in a year and a half. The longest living cat in my family was Hades, who was around for only 7-8 years. He had a skin condition, probably mange, was going deaf and blind, and had a major case of ear mites as well. He passed away last year when our guardian's grandmother carried out the plot to bash his head against a rock and make it look like an accident. This has happened to 2 of my other guardian's cats in the past. My family has a lot of family problems and anger issues, so constantly I am afraid, but at least I am around 7 other cats to protect me from the village dogs and so on.

My main concern is the heartbreak my mother will have when I pass away, or when she goes off to college, and she'll see this website and this account I have and start bawling. She bawls at all the In Loving Memory cat pages around this site. She cannot help it; she is so sensitive. She has to have me around the kitchen while she cooks, or in the bathroom when she's brushing her teeth, because she gets scared too easily.

I will miss her and I hope she'll never lose interest in having me as a pet.
