 Quick Bio:
Likes: He loved to lay on people and suck his thumb. He also liked to terrorize Eclipse and Ohio. He liked dogs and water, too.

Pet-Peeves: Other cats! He hated other cats, probably because they looked puny next to him. He was the size of a small cocker spaniel!

Favorite Toy: Other cats were toys. He loved to chase them.

Favorite Nap Spot: Sleeping on peoples' chests while sucking his "thumb"

Favorite Food: Anything.

Skills: Thumbsucking

Arrival Story: We got Austin from a breeder in... Austin, Tx. That's how he got his name because none of us could agree on a different one. My family and I had to have a Manx cat after meeting my aunt's neighbors' cats. That same weekend, we went home with a 5 week old Cymric (long-hair Manx) kitten. He was just a little bitty ball of fuzz with eyes when we got him. The breeder said that he was probably an eighth to a quarter bobcat and would grow to be big. She was right!Since he was so young when we got him, he continued to do nursing actions until the day he died. His favorite thing to do was lay on someone's chest and "suck his thumb." He would lay down on you and then draw his paw up to his mouth and start literally sucking on his 5th toe/dewclaw toe as if he were a 2 year old kid!

Bio: Austin died in the fall of 2001 from renal failure as a result of antifreeze poisoning. He used to walk the fencelines in our neighborhood and, since we live near a wooded lot of land, people would put stuff like antifreeze on the fencelines to kill the possums and coons that walked them. We think that he must have gotten into antifreeze that way. He was like how Tiny is now, would only drink out of a faucet or a bowl, never out of puddles on the ground. By the time we noticed his symptoms, it was too late. We put him down to save him from further suffering. I miss him very, very much.
