Arrival Story: Othello's age is a "best-guesstimate" by my Vet. You see, in July 2003 , I had discovered him under my Bouganvilla hedge. He was VERY wary of me and was EXTREMELY emaciated and dehydrated. I don't know how long he was lost outside in the nasty, mid-summer Florida heat, but he was not in real good shape. After a bit of coaxing - tossing bits of Friskies dry cat food to where he could get them, along with some cool, fresh water - he finally came up to me. He weighed only about 6.5 - 7lbs. and was so thin I could make a circle and touch my thumb and middle finger around his waist.
After a trip to the Vet to ensure he was free of any feline diseases (which he was!), he returned home with me to begin recouperating. The photo of him sprawled out on the chair was taken shortly after he "moved-in" after his health check up. You can see how thin he was! He has done remarkably well, as the photos show! He had always got along fine with his 3 feline siblings: Mr. Boggins, Ripley (R.I.P. 07/09) and Shelby-Cat (R.I.P. 09/08). In the "group" shot of my dining room table you can see Othello to the right, Mr. Boggins is the white/gray tiger striped cat on the table and Ripley is on the chair ( Shelby-Cat is Ripley's sister and looks almost identical, except she's a bit bigger ).

Bio: Othello is such a loving cat and will sit on or next to you for as long as you will rub his neck! He LOVES neck rubs and ear scratches!
Having had many cats over the years, my "Bear-Cat"" is one of the more mischevious characters! So to quote from William Shakspeare's "Othello", for whom this guy is named: "To mourn a mischief that is past and gone is the next way to draw new mischief on".
