Arrival Story:
I went to a shelter in Seattle with the intention of inviting one cat to live with me. I picked her step-brother, now named Zinn, and while they were getting him ready, I took another look around. Zoe had been in the shelter longer than any of the others. When I asked why, I was told of the reluctance of others because of a cloudiness in her right eye. I couldn't resist. It turns out that she is blind in the one eye, but it's fine otherwise. She was a sweetheart who was found living an independent life on the streets. I tell myself that's why she doesn't know when to stop eating, because she lived the first year of life not knowing where her next meal was coming from, but some say I am just deceiving myself.
Bio:
Before Zoe moved to New York in 2005, she was staying with grandma and grandpa in Portland, Oregon. During the day she was free to wander about free as a bird and free to eat cat food all over the neighborhood. Zoe's time in New York has been spent losing weight. She is doing good and has a most delightful empty flap of skin hanging below her belly. Don't get me wrong, she's still a beautiful tub of love, but she's working on it. Good thing she doesn't have a choice. We are considering her weight loss a success once her skin flap hangs all the way down to brush the floor. ; )
