Arrival Story:
Jack wasn't always Jack. He was a loner, wandering around the neighborhood, sometimes coming by for food that was left out for the family cat before he became a rescue. My sister was taking care of the cats at my parents house when around the corner came a cat with a bloodied eye and hobbling towards her as the pads of his feet were swolen, looking about as ragged and through the ringer as a cat can look. She took him to the vet and had him taken care of, which, sadly, involved removing parts of the pads of his feet and the entirety of his left eye. Because of her dogs, my sister couldn't keep Jack, so I took him in to live with me, Zinn and Zoe.

Bio:
He is the sweetest cat whose favorite place to be is with me or on me. Considering all of the other health scares that have come up since I have had him, he is the best cat I have ever seen at the vet. When he was rescued, he went under the knife. When he moved to New York in 2002 and became a big city cat, he had a severly abcessed tooth that lead to an infection and the removal of three teeth. The seasonal allergies seem to have let up a bit this year which I am most grateful for. This spring 2005, he could be doing better, but he is as always a super stellar cat. I never thought he or I would get use to the subcutaneous fluids injections for his kidney failure, but he is taking it like a super trooper and I will continue doing what I can until I think he is suffering. Granted, I could go without his near death experiences, but I wouldn't change him for the world. It would have been selfish to ask for more out of my sweet Jack than I had, but, I miss him so much now. I sadly had to let him go August 30 this year. You were a fighter and a super trooper, Jack. The vet didn't know how you held on as long as you did and what motivated you to keep living, but thank you for every day we had together.
