Arrival Story: Claude Wellington was rescued from an abandoned hotel, the Wellington, in Albany, NY, along with many other feral cats. He was housed with some very nice women who took care of him, had him neutered and given vaccines, and socialized him to an extent.
I heard of him through the veterinary practice in which I work, because the women who rescued him bring their cats there. I mentioned wanting to find a younger male cat to be Annie's (our other cat) playmate and friend.
They told me about Claude, and he seemed perfect: playful, young, and formerly feral (that aspect is perfect because we did not want Annie to feel eclipsed by a new cat; Claude would not need human attention as much as she is used to receiving).
My family and I went to visit Claude at his benefactress' home, and found him to be very charming and adorable. He's endlessly amusing to play with, and he is rapidly becoming used to people. He is only a bit skittish, and very forgiving when he is frightened by people.
He looks very dignified, and seems to be 'wearing' a moustache and goutee permanently. =3
