Arrival Story:
Louisa was seized from a cattery by the SPCA, along with 59 other cats in April, 2004. She was fostered by an awesome member of Maine Coon Rescue, where she was nursed back to health. She had a bad respiratory infection, and her ear was injured and left untreated at some point during her younger years, too. She had to be taught how to play! She's slept on my bed since the very start, and wakes me up with snuggles and smooches and head-butts and you're-going-to-be-late-for-work chitchat every morning.

Bio:
She has two ears, though it looks like she only has one. Her right ear was damaged (probably a hematoma) when she was younger, and it healed oddly and sits flat on her head. It adds to her exotic beauty, yes? She was underweight, terribly matted, and very ill when she was first taken in, but careful vetting and much tender loving care has made her into the most affectionate, trusting, and brilliant cat. She is named Louisa because it's a favorite name that's popped up in some of my favorite fiction, the lovely daft Queen Louisa, who has appeared in a few stories by my hands-down favorite author, John Gardner. She comes when she's called (when she feels like it), will play fetch (when she feels like it), and meets me at the door when I come home from work to ask me about my day. She doesn't meow much at all. She has a very gravelly little voice, and she says Meh! when she wants to get my attention.
