Arrival Story:
Chloe was the only surviving kitten of a litter that had been dumped in a dumpster behind a pet store. When she was rescued by the Massachusetts Humane Society, she was nearly feral. We adopted her when she was six months old, skinny as a rail, and fiesty. She loved attention and affection from humans, but was quick to swipe at other cats. She walked into our house like she owned the place, leaving our three cats intimidated, infuriated, and stunned.

Chloe was diagnosed with an aggressive form of jaw cancer and was given only a few weeks to live. She was put on antibiotics to clear up what was believed to be a secondary infection in her mouth and, much to her vet's astonishment, she got better. She enjoyed life for over six more months, defying the odds every day. During her illness, Chloe was given pretty much whatever she wanted, but what she wanted most often was the continued adoration and affection of her family. Chloe was one-of-a-kind and she's still missed every day. She was a fighter right up to the end.
