His "donut." It's not really a toy, it's a kitty bed, but he loves it lots. A new one (as of 09/01/04) is a "kitty hammock." It's exactly what it sounds like. Best of all, it encourages him to use his back leg when he climbs into it.

Arrival Story:
I used to work for a vet in Brenham, TX while I was attending Blinn JuCo. My first day at work, at fell completely in love with Hot Rod. He had been abandoned by his cheapskate owner in March of 2003 after having the amputation operation on his leg. She didn't want to pay the bill. Oh, he had to have his back left leg removed after playing target practice with some nasty kids that had a BB gun. Well, I worked at that hospital for about 5 months and all during that time, I tried my damndest to take Hot Rod home. I hated seeing him all locked up in a 2x4 foot cage. Because of that, he still can't use his leg right. A couple of weeks after I quit the hospital, I got a call from a friend of mine who still worked there. My jerk ex-boss was gonna put poor ole Roddy to sleep!!! I wasn't going to have that! My friend and another vet (who worked there and is one of my heroes) smuggled Rod out of the clinic and brought him to me. Here he has lived happily ever since then!
Bio:
Hot Rod is a pretty cool dude. And his previous owner named him Hot Rod because he is FAST. I never knew him when he was a four-legger, but if he was faster then than he is now, then... woah. Even with his funny cripple-gimp walk (he slides on his butt, sort of) he can boogie, especially if there is food in it for him. Even with all he has been through in his life (I'm not really sure how old he is), he is still the most loving kitty there ever was. Sometimes I call him a little man in a cat suit. I say this because his favorite napping places are in front of the TV or fridge, and everytime he sees a woman come into the kitchen, he thinks it's time to eat!
