Arrival Story:
I hadn't had any cats since moving out of my parents' house. My boyfriend said I could get one since I loved animals so much. We answered an ad in the paper and when we saw the 2 kitties left, Jerry was the one. I kept him and loved him and during his first vet visit, it was determined that he had a heart murmur. He was put on Lasix and Enalapril to control the heart murmur. One day I noticed he was lagging and looking up set. I took him to the vet I worked for who had been so kind to him. We took some blood and found out he was going into kidney failure. I had seen enough animals in kidney failure to know it wasn't an easy way to die. I decided that I loved Jerry so much, I didn't want to be selfish to keep him alive just for me. I decided to have him put down before he started to feel sick. I left that Friday with Jerry and spent the weekend loving on him and letting him do what he wanted to do, no matter what it was. One of the other tech's came out to my house to put him down. After a long, sad goodbye (crying even now), he was gone. I had him cremated and his urn sits on a ledge with one of my favorite pictures of him in a nice frame. He was only 2 years old :o(

I loved him so much and I miss him every day. 3 years later I wish he was still here. 7 cats later, not one has been the same. He holds a special place in my heart. The last 2 pictures are of his last day. He was an indoor cat but he wanted so badly to go outside. He had so much fun, he ate grass, chased bugs, I'll never forget that day Jerry-Bear, I love you :o(
