Arrival Story:
Our neighbors dog Maggie brought Cleo to us limp as a dishrag and dropped her on our back steps. I put her in a carrier with a litter box, Iams food and water. We didn't think she would make it through the night, she only weighed 4 pounds!

Bio:
When we asked the vet how old she was he said he couldn't tell since she had no teeth! He said she was over 8 years old and that was July, 1999. She also had one dialated eye (severe head trauma) which gets very large when she's excited. She is able to judge height and distance; her jumps are accurate, most of the time. The vet also said she had an ear infection, gum disease, and a fancy name for allergy to fleas, with an infection. After she was well, we opened the front door and told her she could leave if she wanted to. She sat at the threshhold, looked out to the street, then back in the house, and then at us. Then she scampered to the back of the house. Cleo was curled up in the bottom of her tower when tiny Attila arrived (as a foster pup). She was 1 3/4 lbs. of puppy bounding on top of Cleo and licked her all over--and lived to tell about it! Cleo became her "surrogate" mother and raised her to be a 40 lb. kitten!

Cleo's Diary:

Cleo the Intimidator! Who me?

I wish my human devotee, Judy, would back off poor Phaedra's case. She's too hard on that poor little cat. Judy doesn't like it that Phaedra growls at me. Yes, she's jealous, so what? She'll get over it, maybe, maybe not. I don't care. She has a lot to learn. I'm doing my best to help her. She does make Judy mad when she pees and poops in the bathtub, or worse when she pees in front of the toilet at 3 a.m. Not my problem, but it is funny, except when she messes up My litterbox!

The growling is obnoxious, when it's not funny. Well, I pulled a "stunt" on Phadra last night. She was sitting on my top shelf by the computer which is also by the window. It's long enough for both of us, but she growls and gets "huffy" which ticks me off a bit.

Last night, I just had enough of her, so I arched my back and stretched real good and leaned over into her face and yawned, showing off my fangs, etc. She couldn't get away from me fast enough. Fortunately, Judy was watching and praised me as she died laughing. She called at least 3 of her friends to tell them how wonderful I am! I love it! Ha, ha, ha.

March, 06: Why does Phaedra growl at me? I don't threaten her. I try to be polite and I'm doing my best to ignore her. She pilfers my food at night when she thinks I'm not watching. She has so much to learn about being a household pet. She really does love those night time treats Judy gives us. I don't care about treats. My Iams dry food is enough treat for me. I've never eaten so well in my whole life and my dish is never empty as promised when I came here.
