Home Sweet Home....

Well I've been in this new place with these really nice people almost a whole month now... and I'm beginning to realize this is my new forever family and forever home! I'm starting to get attached to my family too. They are always paying attention to me, giving me lovins and pettings, and talking nice to me. I think I'm beginning to believe Mom when she says, "I love you, Simon!" She tells me all of the time too... makes me feel good.

I don't hide under the bed or in Mom and Dad's closet anymore. I'm always out in the open, lounging around with my new human and kitty family. I haven't decided who I like best, Mom or Dad. They both seem to like it when I curl up with them and take a nap. I seek out Mom when she goes to bed or is at her computer, but I love curling up with Dad when he's home and laying on the couch. He rubs my chin and cheeks, and seems to really like it when I cuddle up with him, either by his belly or in the crook of his legs. And I go visit every one of my human family when they go to the bathroom! I know I've got their undivided attention in there, hehe.

It hasn't been all rosy though...

The first week I was here, I wasn't quite sure how this whole thing was going to go... Mom put me back in the little portable jail she brought me home in, and I thought maybe she didn't like me after all, and was going to take me back to the Shelter. I sure was glad she didn't do that... but unfortunately she took me to the Vet! I was poked and prodded and checked out all over, and I didn't like it much. But it was even worse when Mom left me there!

I was very confused and sad, thinking she didn't want me anymore, and wondering just what my future was going to be now... just when I'd started getting used to, and really becoming attached to my new forever home and family. I then somehow went to sleep without meaning to... and woke up with my whole mouth hurting. I had to have 5 teeth extracted, and the rest of them were cleaned really good. I was just so happy when I realized that Mom hadn't abandoned me there... she came and got me and took me back to my new home. I was still scared, but so very relieved that she still wanted me!

Then I had to submit to Mom shoving these dreaded pills down my throat every night for two weeks. I didn't like it at all, of course! But she was very gentle and tried to make the process as painless as possible... even though she was firm and wouldn't let me get out of it! Every time I had to take one she would hold me like a baby, and explain to me in her soft voice that it would make me feel better. And she would always tell me how much she loved me, and praised me after I swallowed it. But the whole mouth/teeth and pills ordeal seems almost like a distant memory now, even though I get soft canned food special every day... just for me.

I'm getting along really well with most of my new kitty brothers and sisters too. Luna, Misty, and Magic still hiss at me from time to time (and I hiss right back at them!), but it's nothing major. We even all sleep on the same bed or couch together at times. Squirt and Jingles are the nicest to me. I have become pretty good friends with both of them. But that's another subject for another time... *yawn"... who knew writing in my diary would make me so darn tired? Must be time for a nap!

I'll close in saying that although I was unsure at first of everything that's happened to me in the past month, I now know that I'm so very lucky and happy to have a great home and a family that loves me...... I'm HOME!!!!!

I'M ADOPTED!!!! And my Profile Info when I was looking for- my forever home...

I'VE JUST BEEN ADOPTED into my new forever home!!! Finally!! They took very good care of me and gave me lots of love at the Just Animals Shelter in Seneca, Illinois... but it's just not the same as having a real home and my very own family to love me. After living at Just Animals for over a year (thank goodness it was a no-kill shelter!), I'm just happy my new family wanted ME, and came and got me!

It's a little scary, but I'm really curious about everything... my new home, my new human family, and all of my kitty housemates. My new Mom is going to be updating my profile, but we have so much getting aquainted to do!

I want to always remember where I came from before coming to my new forever home, so I'm including the description and information Just Animals Shelter wrote for me when they first made me a profile here on Catster. They really did love me, and I'm sure going to miss the nice ladies that always came in and took care of me and gave me lovins. But I'm also sure they are happy that I finally found my forever home.

You can read it here below... and in the meantime, I'm getting off of here to do some more exploring! Now... where was that food bowl again?

Arrival Story:
Simon is a very gentle soul! He is a beautiful Lynx Point Siameese! He has striking blue eyes! His eyes are verycrossed, so he sees the world very differently than the rest of us. I think that they just add to his character! Simon is a very sweet boy, he likes to sit on laps and be talked to. He has a very cute habit of crawling under his bed and peaking out, so I would not be surprised if he also liked to snuggle under covers! Simon lived with only one adult person before, so he is understandably overwhelmed by young children and dogs. He gets along great with other gentle natured cats though! He is learning to be more brave with children too. Simon would love a quiet and peaceful home to call his own! Simon arrived declawed. Adoption fee $110.00
