Arrival Story: My Mom was planning to rescue a grown cat but she saw I was so scared and shivering by myself in a ball that she couldn't resist adopting me. And of course I knew right away that I had found a loving heart and my home.

Bio: I love people and I'm not afraid of anybody, but I get cranky when I'm hungry and I love to eat. I keep my girlish figure by chasing my brother around the house when Mom isn't home. He needs a good swat regularly because he's always doing things like smelling my behind and grabbing my tail. Boys!! I'm also very much a lady and very polite (unless I'm hungry). I love to sit on Mom's chest and nuzzle my forehead into her chin. And I just adore laying in the sun, even in the summer in Phoenix. I'm one hot kittie!
Dec 25, 2007 at 7 a.m. after several weeks of the ups and downs of kidney failure, Miss Cassandra wiggled down off her Mom's chest (where she slept every night) onto the bed then onto the floor. With one big "ME-OW" she sunk to the tile and passed away. She was one spirited kitty and fought the disease as if she wasn't going to let it stop her. And now she is as peace with the angels.

Forums Motto: You may call me Queen Cassandra

Story: When we lived in a very remote wooded area I snuck outside when Mom wasn't paying attention and I got lost fast. I spent TWO WEEKS in the wild with temps below freezing at night. I thought for sure I would become a wild animal's dinner. Luckily I was spotted off the side of the road one night by a friend of Mom's who rounded up the troops and they came back to find me. I was hiding deep in the brush and they crawled on their stomachs with flashlights to find me. I was thin, dehydrated and very scared. I only moved towards Mom when she pulled out a can of tuna. Did I mention I was starving? Mom scooped me up in a towel and rushed me home where, after drinking a bunch of water and just a couple nibbles of food, I slept for 2 days straight. I never go near the doors now. I know how lucky I am to have a safe, warm home plus I put my Mom through a lot of worrying. That's how I lost one of my nine lives. There's no place like home!
