 Quick Bio:
Likes: Kisses from mom while getting carried around the house and water in the special glass on the counter

Pet-Peeves: The new kitten Stella!, being stuck in the house all day, when the hot tub cover is not on the hot tub, when the bathroom door is shut, and biting half body lizards that refuse to let go of your paw.

Favorite Toy: Feather on a stick, Mardi Gras beads, and superballs... lots and lots of superballs.

Favorite Nap Spot: Front porch in the afternoon sun

Favorite Food: Fancy Feast with the little shrimp and bits of sardines in aspic -- the one that really grosses everyone out.

Skills: He stands up on his back legs, front legs outstretched, to be picked up. He also is quite adept at eating the back ends of lizards, yet not actually killing them.

Dwells:
indoors and outdoors

Arrival Story: It took me two hours at the SPCA, wandering back and forth between the cat rooms. There just wasn't any connection... and then, on my last trip into the second room, there were a new set of eyes checking me out. He had been sleeping in his food bowl before. I saw him, and immediately knew -- he was going home with me. It was Mardi Gras; there was chaos. He claimed his space immediately, and was a perfect gentleman and gracious host to all the guests in town for the festivities, asking only for superballs and affection in return.
He has recently been given a kitten -- Stella!. It took a few weeks, and there are still a few issues that pop up here and there, but he is training her well, and they grow closer every day.

Bio: Tyrone came from the pound with a touch of what I thought was kennel cough. When, after a few weeks, it hadn't cleared up, we went to the vet. I dropped him off, and called later from work to see what the prognosis was. And it was..... chlamydia. Well, I know he was picked up on the street.... but I didn't realize it was that serious. Luckily, a few antibiotics and a few more days, and I can assure all you lovely cat ladies and men that he is now clean and chlamydia free. And also assure you all that in cats, chlamydia is simply an upper respiratory infection.
POST KATRINA update:
We had to evacuate without the cats (it's a long story, but trust me, it was the only option at that point, and we thought we'd only be gone for 3 days). I spent the next two weeks making frantic appeals to animal rescue workers, who never got to my (unflooded and barely damaged) house. Finally, a friend in the National Guard broke in one day and rescued Tyrone (who is quite the friendly sort), but scared Stella! (who is half feral) enough that he couldn't find her, so he left more water (they still had plenty of food and some water left, as I tend to overprepare -- thankfully) and secured my house. When he called to let us know he had Tyrone and that we could most likely sneak back into New Orleans, we packed up and left, driving 14 hours. We snuck back into NOLA the next morning, found Stella!... who had climbed INTO THE WALL... and grabbed her. We were stuck away from home for another three weeks, but we are all back in New Orleans, safe and sound. In fact, I think both the spoiled little monsters have a new appreciation for home, and everyone is much more agreeable to getting along these days! Thanks for your concern, everyone.
SAD NEWS: Tyrone has passed on to the great cat nip field in the sky. He is missed every day, by not only by the multitude of other human friends he has made, but most especially by Stella!, his little sister, and me. Every day. Every morning, every afternoon, every evening -- I miss my Tyrone Power.
