Canned food, drooling, sucking on necks (it was a security thing), his brother, Jerry
Vet visits, dogs messing with his brother, empty food dishes
George loved anything that made noise (wind up cars, remote control cars, trains, etc...) My boys couldn't play with these things without a certain tubby cat coming from wherever he was in the house and attacking them (knocking them off the track, etc...)
Favorite Nap Spot:
Wherever the sunlight krept in from the window
Canned food (sliced beef and gravy)
Drooling (while sucking on necks) and BIG purrs
I was picking my dog up at the vet after he was neutered and saw a sign that said "Free to good home" with a picture of two very handsome brother kitties. They were found on campus after the students left for the summer and were being fostered by a faculty member and needed a home. My husband said I could go "look" at them (apparently not realizing what that actually meant.) I sat on the floor in the office and George immediately started sucking on my arm and purring. A guy who worked in the office said "aren't they nice cats? Don't you just want to bring them home?" To which I replied "I am."
About two years after getting George we discovered he had a heart condition. He had one major stroke and a minor one about a year after his first. He was on daily medication and for a while you would never know he was ill (except for his "swagger", he walked around like a drunken sailor :-) He enjoyed playing and eating and LOVING his family most of all. We had a great time with him- he was a wonderful loving good friend to all of us.
Since I discovered "Dogster", I have been waiting impatiently for Catster to be created so that I could share pictures of all of our lovely kitties (particularly our sweet heart patient, George.) Today (8/06/04) I finally received the e-mail that this site was up and running on this, the very day that our beloved George died. Today has been a really rough day but I am happy to share our pictures and memories of our dearly departed tubby cat with people who love their kitties as much as we do. Words cannot convey how much he was loved and how much he will be missed... he was a wonderful and loving sweet creature and our house is just not the same without him.
