Arrival Story:
I was volunteering at a local animal shelter, and Cooper had been hit by a car and brought in by one of the animal control officers. I first saw him in the infirmary area of the shelter and I would check on him every day to see how he was doing. When he got better, and no one adopted him, I begged the shelter to give him more time. One day they called me at work and said that his time was up -- if I didn't come and get him by the end of the day, he would be put down. I raced down to the shelter right away and they let me take him in as a "foster". From that day on, Coopy charmed everyone he met.

He was kind of goofy looking and had long legs and a stubby tail that made him look like Bugs Bunny from the rear. I consider myself the luckiest person on earth to have been blessed with Cooper for ten years. When he passed away of kidney failure, the vet estimated his age to be at least 16. I thank God that his owners never claimed him and no one else wanted him, because I truly believe that he was a gift from above. He saw me through some really tough times, and not a day goes by that I don't think of him and miss him terribly.

Oh Cooper. How I miss you. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my Coopstos Noches. Fate brought us together and even though I had ten years with you, I would give anything for one more day. Of course, one more day would leave me wanting another "one more day".

Cooper, you were the very best cat ever and anyone lucky enough to meet you was left charmed by your gregarious personality and comedic talent. There will never be another one like you. My buddy, my best friend. How I love my little boy.

This is a special Tail of Devotion
