I was born in the USA, I'm independent, and I was free!

Someone had a bright idea in this heat to plant some flowers out in the backyard today. It wasn't me and it wasn't Mom. It was Dad. He said it needed some color, so they went to the garden store this morning.

We can't wait to check out the pretty stuff, but some of us will be disappointed that our beloved dirt holes will be covered up. I might have to ask Quincy and Cosmo to dig up some new ones.

As you can see, I'm not outside helping in this heat and neither is Mom, but she did go and lay the flowers out where they should be planted and will go water them when Dad's done. The hard part! Well, it wasn't our idea!

Have a Safe and Happy 4th of July. Don't forget to water your plants tomorrow. Tomorrow Meowy and Grammy must pull weeds in the daylilly garden. Ugh! Hope it's not hot.

Hi Boogie, Kibbles, and Beauty,

Happy 4th to all of you! Yes, we will be watering the new flowers by hand and Dad will fix the watering system. We also need to lay some bark down.

There are some variegated coleus under the maple tree, and some fuschia, yellow/pink flowers..called mini bells with some other fancy name!

RA, how about fuschia...that's kind of hot pink/purple! The yellow flowers are a mix of yellow and rose pink. I will get some pictures taken..maybe this weekend!

Daddy did a good job planting and Mommy did a good job of watering. MOL
