Sad news...

For all of Miko's Catster pals, Miko is no longer with us. He started getting lethargic last night and started to foam at the mouth. His appetite was almost non-exsistant, and he had difficulty walking due to his arthritis. We had tried several medications and treatments to help ease his arthritis pains, but he did not respond well to anything. Results from the blood test this morning confirmed his kidney's were also failing. We did not want him to suffer anymore and had no choice but to put him down. Miko was our very first cat (we got him at 2 mo. old) and he will always remain in our hearts and memories. May he rest in peace...

Sorry I haven't done an entry in a few months. I am still recovering from my near death experience. About 3 weeks ago, I was rushed to the emergency vet hospital and went through 4 days of tests, x-rays, ultrasounds and medication. Turns out my urinary tract was blocked. I had a surgery (urethal reconstruction) on Thursday afternoon and did well throughout the night. However, in the early morning hours, I took a turn for the worse and had to go through another surgery (to reduce the inflamation in my bladder) on Friday. It seems I did well for several hours after the inital surgery, but I always managed to take a turn for the worse again. This time, it was determined that I had stones that were in my system for so long, they were practically embedded in my body. I had another emergency surgery Saturday morning. I did well for that day, then my temperature dropped. I was placed into an incubator for 36 hours. I'm not sure why I got blocked again, but I did. I had my 4th surgery on Monday afternoon to drain the urine that had leaked from my bladder being so weak. I guess I made it difficult and took the long route. However, I remained stable for the next few days and was allowed to go home for an overnight visit. I had yet to develop my normal appetite so I was told to come back for tube feedings so I could my daily does of medications. A few more days passed and I was given the OK to go home.

I've been home for about a week now and things are going well. In fact, I just had my stiches taken out on Friday and Mom had the vet staff give me a "lion cut". Boy, that made me really mad! I can't get over it! I feel so...naked! Thanks for sticking around to read my long entry! Take care and be healthy!

Damn, it was HOT today!

So today was the start of Hurricane season for Hawaii. It lasts from June - November and I don't think I can handle it! When I wake up in the morning, I'm usually greeted by a ray of sunshine and a slight ocean breeze. Clearly, that wasn't the case today. I woke up to a down pour of rain! I thought, "Oh great, there goes my walk for the day!". Just when I thought all hope was lost, I saw the sun peaking out behind the clouds. I thought to myself, "Sweet mother of catnip, there's sun!" but wait, where's the breeze that follows it? It's nowhere to be found. It's gone, lost in the oblivion! I ran to mommy and begged her to put the AC on. She scolded me and told me it was too early and I'd end up getting cold. I'm not one to talk back, so I took my handsome self and walked over to the hallway. Plopped myself down on the cold icy tile floor. Ohh...it felt heavenly. I drifted off into catnip land and when I woke up mommy was gone! She had left for work and forgot to turn on the AC. What?! How could she do this to me? I knew I would be melting all day. So while mommy was at work, I went from one corner of the house to the other and slept in the darkest spot I could find. I barely got any sleep because it was so darn hot! The sun kept stalking me and the humidity was killing me! AHH!

Mommy finally came home and boy did I give her an earful! She apologized profusely and gave me ahi treats. I let her slide this time with a warning. *sigh* I must go now, the AC is calling my name...literally.

What the bleep?!

What is with my mommy and clothes? Every week it's a new outfit! I can't handle it anymore. It was cute around the holidays but now she's just getting out of hand! Not only did she get me a new outfit, but she got it in two different colors! The hat and the shirt don't match. Ah well, the thing is...she got me a blue shirt in medium but she had over estimated my fluffness. I'm actually a size small. So she goes back to exchange the blue medium for a small and they're sold out! They didn't have the matching hat for the green/tan shirt so I'm stuck with a mis-matched outfit. Oh the horror! Hmm...I think I'm too metrosexual for my own good. Blame it on my mommy!

Oh hell yeah!

Mommy put a bird feeder outside, RIGHT in front of the window. Oh man, talk about giving the birds heart attacks. Bwahahaha, good times! Sebastian and I are experts at bird hunting but Kionu is still in training. He thinks the birds aren't real so he'll just look at them and walk away. Oh well, more fun for us!

Mommy also had us trying all this new stuff. First the litter, then the food, then the teeth stuff. Ahh! I can't take any more of it! I don't adapt to change that well, as if
it wasn't obvious already. *hehe*.

Mommy had to work today and that brat Kionu got to go with her. Oh, just because he has a little eye cold he's all hot stuff? Pshh, he better recognize! Holla! Anywhoo, she said she'd take us for walks when she comes home. She better! Or else, I'm gonna have to lay the smackdown on someone...preferably Kionu. *smirk*

Ah choo! Pass the tissue please...

Wow, it's been a month or so since I wrote an entry. My, how the time flew by! I hope everyone had a purrfect holiday season! Our year started off on a bad foot. Kionu and I got a little cold (URI) and we had to take 2 trips to the vet! I love car rides and visiting Dr. Aaron, but twice in one week! Come on! A cat can only handle so much. Anyway, after a week of antibiotics, we're fully recovered and back to our crazy selves.

After we were fully recovered, Mommy took us outside for our first walk of the year. Too bad it only lasted for one day. The next day there was a hurricane type storm and it lasted for 4 days. We were so bummed out. All we could do was sit on the window and watch the rain pour and pour. Blah! I hate rainy days!

P.S. Mommy cut my fur, so now my tummy is not as fluffy as it appears in my photos. Bummer dude...

14 days and counting!

Christmas is almost here and I am totally stoked! I got my stocking today! It says "Santa Paws". Bwhahaha! How cute is that? It was the last one at the store today and boy do some people get crazy with their Christmas shopping! Mommy had the stocking in her hand and some crazy old lady tried to take it from her! What the bleep! My mommy had it first! Good thing my mommy is stronger, and she managed to keep a firm grip on it. I told mommy if I was there, I would've kicked butt! Man, I hope that lady gets a lump of coal in her stocking! What a meanie! Well, I'm joing the other for a nap session. See ya later!

Just a little trip...

Last night I decided to sneak out of the house for some alone time. BAD IDEA! Not only was it late at night, but mommy had just taken a shower and she was super mad that I got outside.

I snuck away to the coffee field to chill out under the stars. Mommy spotted me with her flashlight and she called me to come over. I told her I'm just chillin' and I'll come out when I'm ready. She wasn't havin' it. She counted to 3 and I just sat in the same spot. At this point, she's super mad and it's getting really cold so she decided to come in after me. You must be thinking...what's so hard about walking into a coffee field? You need to understand that my mommy is SCARED of spiders. I mean, just a plain 'ole spider WEB freaks her out. Plus, it's hard to see all those spiders at night with all the big trees around. She came in the field, swinging the stick to knock down all the webs in her way. She finally caught me, and took me home. I was put in time out for an hour, and she took away all my toys! Bah! I was so mad. Needless to say, I am still ground. Which means no toys, and no treats. It's all Savanah's fault any way. She stood by the door and practically ratted me out! She's just mad that she's on probation for killing Mr. Wasabi (R.I.P.). I'll get her back one day...you'll see.

Yay for me!

Woo hoo! Mommy told me that I was "Cat of the Week". I ran around with excitement for a minute then took a break. Old age and a bad paw gets the best of me sometimes. I think mommy was more excited than me though. As a congratulation gift, mommy went out and got me some toys, treats and a new kitty sofa! It's blue! My favorite color! It also folds out into a sofa bed so Kionu can nap with me too. *sigh* It's so soft. I'm going to cut this entry short so I can nap on it again. *good times*

P.S. That means I have to think of something else to add to my Christmas list in place of the "plush bed" I had listed. Hmm....any ideas?
