Arrival Story:
Steve and Janna found me on Craigslist! Me and my brother and sister were ready to move away from Mom's house. Steve and Janna came over and met my sister (Dahlia) first, but once they managed to drag me back into the house, I met Steve, and it was love at first sight.

Bio:
The first night I lived at Steve and Janna's, I wouldn't play with or talk to anybody. But then it started storming and I got scared and woke Janna up, and she talked me into having a snack and playing with all the new toys they got me. Since then, I haven't shut up, and often prefer squeaking to meowing (Janna does it, too!) It took three days til I had a better name (my first name was Curly), but after a discussion about naming me Peyton (as in Manning), or Reggie (as in Bush), our friend Jonathan suggested 'Pete,' and it stuck. Janna insists I'm named after Pete Carroll (football coach), Steve insists I'm named after Pete Wrigley (the little one, from 'Pete & Pete'), while others have likened me to Peter Petrelli and Peter Parker or referred to me as 'Petey Perkins' (another human friend's last name) or Pete Smith-Bergman or just Pete Bergman, since I like Steve better than Janna. We've had some adventures, too - one night I went for a midnight snack and was very frustrated to find my food dish in a pool of water, so I woke up Janna and she found that the water heater in the kitchen was leaking, spraying water all over my food! (oh, and their stove and kitchen floor, too). I got all the credit for letting them know about it early, since they wouldn't have woken up for hours, and who knows what would've happened to my food supply. But, then I got to spend lots of time hanging out at other people's apartments while ours was getting fixed. That made things easier when we moved to a new apartment, but I like it, because I can run all over the hardwood floors with my claws out and make lots of noise, and we've got two screen doors for me to watch morning doves out of every morning. But best of all, it's specified in their lease that Steve and Janna can't get any more pets besides me (my name is in the lease even!) until they move out, so I know I've got this place alllll to myself!
