Pixie was given to us by a friend from work.

Oh MY What a Trial Kittens Can Be!

Well, Meowmy gave that smelly little kitten a bath first thing (Thank Catdom!) so at LEAST she smells better now, but I worry. You know, my kittens really like playing with her, but I don't want my babies learning any bad habits. For instance, last night Meowmy was cleaning and happened to pull out the big, heavy television...well was SHE in for a surprise! The past few days she had been thinking she smelled something bad, so she had been changing the kittens' litterbox quite often, even though it didn't seem to need it. Well, upon pulling out that television what do you suppose she saw? YOU GOT IT! Little kitty poops and pee everywhere - and ALL OVER this stack of FRAMED pictures she had stored back there! Meowmy was soooooooo angry! She thought about letting me and Azzy have at the newest little one - you know, to make an example - but then she realized they were DRY poops, so they must have happened before my kittens started using the litterbox. But she could barely move that big old TV because it was soooooo heavy! She vaccuumed and washed the rug and finally went to bed and fell fast asleep. When she came downstairs this morning the new kitten had pooped on the floor in FRONT of the TV so Meowmy had to clean that up, too! I feel bad for her, because she's trying so hard and this kitten is just trouble - well, that's what Azzy says. She hates her. Meowmy is thinking of naming her Ginger. Well, you know if she names her, that's it - she's staying. *yikes!* Well, I got pretty close to that kitten this morning, just to see if she still stank - that's how I know what a good job Meowmy did of washing her! When I called my kittens for breakfast that kitten had the nerve to look over at me! AS IF I would let her come and nurse on my babies' nipples! I think NOT! Well, I am reserving judgment I think. She may end up staying and if she does, I suppose we all have to get along, but I'm still not liking the idea very well - but it's better than getting squirted with that darned water bottle!

Wow. Mum pulled a fast one on us tonight! I was about to feed my kittens when all of a sudden, THERE was ANOTHER kitten! Right here in OUR living room! I'm having a hard enough time feeding my 6 kittens - how does she expect me to feed ANOTHER one? Oh my.... I think it's time to wean! Thankfully this kitten eats crunchies! But jeez....I mean, come on! I have babies to take care of and this kitten will only get in my way. I suppose I don't have any choice, but I'm not liking this one bit!

Catch Me Up

Since my first entry is rather late and behind the times, let me catch you up some. My mommy got sent home on suspension from work the day I went into labor to have my kittens. She was sitting at her desk on the computer, and I was hoping she wouldn't hear me because she'd chased me out from under the china cabinet before, but sure enough, she heard me purring away (she is a singing teacher, so she hears that stuff...darn it!) and promptly took me out of that room and into the hallway. She laid me on some towels and shut the door. I was FRANTIC! I had my nest all picked out - how could she DO this to me? Well, all of a sudden, my tummy started to contract and I felt funny. It was really overwhelming, and nothing seemed to be happening, but Mama noticed that some little hind legs were starting to emerge - my kitten was coming out BACKWARDS! Mama says it is called "breach" and she was really nice and kept me calm and kept me from trying to walk around with my baby hanging out of me and help me push that first kitten out. It was all rather nerve-wracking, and I wasn't at all happy to be having my kittens right there in the hallway where everyone usually walks! Well, Mama put Azzy outside because she kept running back and forth past me, she was sooooo excited to become an Aunt! After the first kitty, the others were fine - all head first as it should be, I am told. After 3 kittens I was really tired and took a break. Mama got a clean towel & put it down and I had a fourth and she thought I was done, so she put me in a basket with a flannel sheet along with the kittens - but I WASN'T done - I ended up having SIX kittens! I was so tired after having the last one I let Mama take care of it. You will see pix of them in my family space. Well, they are 6 weeks old tomorrow - and growing up soooo fast! My babies will be looking for new homes soon - well, at least 3 of them (Bastien, Celeste and Buttercup). My Aunt Jess's friend is taking Onyx. One of the neighbor's MIGHT be adopting Buttercup, but they have to talk their dad into it :D Today I let Mama hold me for a while. She was excited, because I don't like being held, but she's been awfully good to me and I wanted to do something nice for her. Well, I will chat with you all later - have a purrrrrrrrrrrfect day!
