Dilute Calico

Arrival Story:
I found cute litter of kittens and had to bring them to adoption place. But I kept one - I had never even seen a dilute tortie or dilute calico - its a very unusual coloring. I was extremely griefstricken at the time, because my much loved cat Jerry got killed by coyote. My husband said OK - keep a kitten. That kitten will have the "life of Riley" here.

Because she was born outside and missed early socialization, she was feral at first. But, after 3 days she purred and was tame. But she is afraid of people that come to the house. She hides till they leave. One year after she came. I found another litter of kittens. Again, I had to bring them to Adoption place. But I had to keep runt (Rocky). She was afraid of him - even though he was little. After a month, they played and like eachother. One important thing about Riley is she cannot MEOW ! She squeaks. She purrs. She growls when playing with Rocky - but she cannot meow.

Mom's human daughter found a kitten on August 1st. Human daughter is keeping it while she is in the apartment at college.

Mom speaking: I will post picture when I get one and start new cat page for him. He is now 5 months old - has kitten crazies right now. I brought kitten to vet for all his shots, etc and Vet said "You are the Gramma " Yes I guess I am.

He is pale, pale orange with very short hair. Extremely loving and friendly and confident. He was well socialized by someone, probably little kids - before a mean adult dumped him on side of road. He is a very healthy, cute little boy kitten.

His name is Oliver.

I am babysitting this weekend. - little Oliver

Will update with his picture soon - he is the cutest kitten I have ever seen, and I am a goner again.

OOOPS - did I say that before ?

Mom is crying, Dad is allergic to cats. He has been all along, but it has gotten so bad. He said to get rid of me and Rocky. Mom said OK just to shut him up - but she thinks:
"Wow, I love these 2 cats more than most people I know. I get so much joy from them - and when I rescued them from being born outside, and nursed them, I promised to take care of them forever - and I have a very strong bond - they do not like any other humans - they are afraid of other people - I almost can't bear it - the thought of re-homing them to people that are not in-tune with them - or may not hold them in high regard - may let them outside to get eaten by coyote or hit by car - or just get plain scared. I have decided that I am going to go somewhere that I can keep these 2 cats and get away from my husband. I told him they would be out by May 19. But, I will be with them and re-homed myself. The thought of giving them to someone or bringing to shelter - I get beyond upset at the thought. I think I may be a little crazy - it is just so painful. I have many losses in my life, and I can't bear to lose these 2 cats !
Thats all for now "
