It's been a rather strange week!..... I thought my life was to revolve around my home... but one Saturday morning my mum got me up really really early and stuffed me into a big cat box. I panicked... I thought that mum didn't want me anymore and was going to take me back to to where I was born! How wrong I was......
She'd been brushing me all week and even clipped my claws. She'd make sure all my paws were sparkling white and that my tail was all bushy and clean. I looked, she said like a 'Champion' cat.....
That morning was very cold and rainy, and it was all dark when we set off in the car. She'd put lots of fluffy blankets in with me.. so I soon settled down to sleep. It was about 90 minutes before the car stopped, and my mum took me and my basket out of the car, gathered up her belongings and walked (me bumping up and down in the basket) for about 10 minues. I could see a little through my basket window, but didn't know what was happening. I started to howl and cry! "That's never a Birman in there is it? Sounds more like a Siamese!"... said someone near to us. Then out I was pulled from the basket and stuck on a table where a vet stuck his hand on me and looked at my eyes, ears and teeth (I nearly got the vets hands as he opened my mouth to see my teeth and gums), but actually instead of bite, I just licked him! The vet laughed and said what a cute little kitty I was. "No that's fine, no fleas"... you're good to go .... and off we went again.
There were lots of other cats around.... I was put into a large cage with all my things. Mum fluffed my fur and said all nice things, and then left me alone. I cried at first and purred at the cat in the next pen, but then found it was too much energy so I went to sleep (can't be wasting energy now can I!).
A few nice people in white coats came along every now and again to check on me. They'd get me out of my pen, fuss me, play with me and then put me back again.
Later in the day mum came back and gave me a really really big hug and kept telling me what a good boy I was. I wasn't actually sure what I'd done to deserve this... but it was nice to be hugged by mum... so I just licked her nose in thanks!
Finally, it was time to get ready to go home (or at least I thought so)... all the other kitties were being put in their boxes, and their owners where trundling off home...... mum put me in my box... but we were not going very far!. Seems I was going to have my photo taken!..... We had to wait a while as some other Birmans were having their photos taken, but eventually it was my turn.
Apparently I'm not such an easy cat to photograph!... they kept waving feathers and other toys in front of me (I think to make me pose), but actually all I wanted was to play with those toys... so I kept moving when I shouldn't! The nice man said that he did eventually get some nice photos... and when they arrive we'll put one or two up on Caster .. so you can see how much I've grown!
It seems I could turn out to be a Champion cat... and at the end of that show we got our special gold certificate.... Mum tells me I only need two more of those to become a Champion!... so some other early morning when I least expect it, I'll be once more bundled into a cat box and driven to another cat show......

A couple of my white pawed friends have been a little under the weather recently, and mummy's been giving them rolled up balls of Sardines to make them feel better. I keep trying to get in on the act... 'cos she always feeds me last! (wicked mummy!). I've tried ducking and diving around her feet, twine myself around her legs, and try to squeeze from behind to pinch the Sardines off her hand, but she keeps pushing me away. The other day, I tried a different tactic - this time from above!... I climbed up onto her back and try to leap down from her shoulders - co-ordination of acrobatic feats is not yet mastered and I fell off and missed mum's outstretched sardine filled hand and feel into a normal bowl of Felix!....... (Note to self : must watch more of that Cirque de Celebrite for some more hints and tips on how to best approach this acrobatic feat of procurement!).......
Finally, when she's almost finished dishing out the Sardines, do I get the leftover's - measly portion that it is - must get more - I rrrrather like the taste!
Well must go, got some soggy paws to wash!
(Note from Mistress... what Teddy doesn't know is that in those Sardines are some tablets! No-one's managed to suss it out yet - wonder how long that ruse will last!).

I'm thirteen weeks old, and I've been bundled up in a basket and moved to a new home - with lots of new smells and what's worse new pals to get acquainted with. Oh well, I'm a very quick study. I can play really cute or really crafty when the situation arises. I know how to meeeoow all the right things and can sweet talk any feline creature that approaches me. My new pals are almost 10 times my size, but they don't frighten me - I'm full of Birman Tabby Bravado - but I'll soon have them trained!
My new human mum is another matter. She's going to have to undergo intensive training! Before I left my old home, my Auntie Annie gave me a training manual for kittens entitled "How to train your new human family and Get Exactly What You Want!"... so watch out for details on how it's all going as I implement each chapter in turn!
