Mom here:
Just wanted to post a quick update. I'll do a full recount of the last 4 days later on. Everyone and animal is fine. The house and apartment survived with almost no damage, no flooding. The wooden fences are all down. Luckily we have a little courtyard area between our garage and the side of the house and a metal gate that closes off the backyard. Mia can get through the metal gate poles because they are about 8 inches wide but we put up leftover plywood so we can at least let the dogs out there.
We are playing host to a stray boxer puppy that we have named Roscoe for the time being. He is very sweet and gets along well with everyone. Mia doesn't like him but she doesn't like most other dogs at first anyway.
I will post pictures of the damage, etc. later. We have power and cable and internet here at the house. No power at the apartment yet though. We are hoping soon.

Hi Everyone,
We are about to evacuate for Hurricane Ike. We are in a mandatory evacuation zone because we are less than a mile from Galveston Bay. For the time being the plan is to go to Nana and Grandpa's house (they are boarding up the windows as we speak) but we have a hotel room in Austin reserved for Thurs/Fri/Saturday if we feel we really do need to get out of town.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We will try to keep in touch.
Until Next Time,
E-Man

There is a fly that is buzzing around and it is driving me nuts because I CANNOT catch it!! I get so close but then he slips through my paws. I won't rest until I catch that fly!

Christmas was actually fun this year!
"He" and "She" decided to open presents on Christmas Eve because our Christmas Day was so packed.
I got a lot of cool toys:
*A house/tunnel system to play in
*A scratching post that has a spring on top with a pom pom that makes me go crazy!
*An over the door hanging cat chaser toy that has feathers! That thing is tricky...If I walk off too far it pops back and then I have to pounce over and catch it again!
*Catnip Spray
*A Loopies catnip toy that has springs
*A Fat Cat catnip Christmas toy
*A little catnip fuzzy mouse
The spaz Mia also got a lot of toys and presents. She just wrote her own diary entry about it. She even keeps trying to play with mine! Humph!
After we opened presents we all went to bed. Well...the humans and The Spaz did...I stayed up all night playing with my new toys! On Christmas morning they woke up early packed up all of the presents and went over to Nana and Grandpa's house. They left me at the apartment but that is okay because I like my alone time and I got to play with my new stuff all day in peace!
The Spaz got a chaise lounge bed from Nana that looks like a thone!! It is actually very comfy and "She" is suprised because I never like to lay on "pet beds."
"He," "She," and The Spaz got home about 9:30 and played with me for a bit. Then they went to test out their presents. "He" got an X-Box 360 and some games and "She" got some kitchen appliances, a movie, and a computer game.
It was a big Christmas this year and I'll have to admit it was a little fun.
Until next time kids,
E-Man

Well...I came to my new home tonight. Well, at least my temporary home. My new "people" say we are moving to an apartment in a month.
Kaitlin and Chase say they are my new parents...I don't think I'll call them 'Mom' and 'Dad' just yet. For now I will call them 'She' and 'He'.
They brought me to this huge house with a lot of animals. Two dogs other than Mia and an old grouchy cat. Mia was being such a spaz tonight. I mean...I know she likes me and all...but jeez pup, get a grip...
'She' poured me a bowl of my "Deli Select" Purina cat food (bleck)...against her better judgment. She said that tomorrow we will start transitioning over to Evo. She wants to give me a little time to adjust to my new place...whatever that means.
We'll see how this new place goes...they did bombard me with a bunch of new toys. I guess thats better than nothing.
Until next time kids,
E-Man
