We have just come home from braving the wintry weather. We gave ourselves lots of extra time but the roads we needed to travel were mostly clear. (The worst of the weather, the ice... hasn't yet come.)
Yes... yet another trip to the Tortury for me. This time though an amazing thing happened. The Cone of Shame was removed by the Tortury attendants and my doctor told me family that I am doing really well. I was also given "Free reign" to do as I please now. We'll see what exactly that includes, now that I'm home. I did hear my family saying that at least for the next few nights they want me "crated." Something about "they don't want to sleep through anything happening with me and not know about it."
I did amaze Papa last night. I was being a very *obstinate* girl by giving my incision some "tongue time." You know what that means... I get a "time out" in the Cone of Shame.
While wearing my Cone of Shame (which although clear, is a bit hard to navigate and jump with) I managed to jump onto Mama and Papa's bed and have a little snooze there.
Mama came looking for me and said to Papa "She's on the bed!" Papa said "Really?" and he came to see for himself. I gave them my most "Do not DISTURB" face that I could muster and they turned out the bedroom light and let me rest undisturbed on the bed.
(It's been almost 2 weeks since I had the comfort of sleeping on Mama and Papa's bed.)
But... speaking of "disturbing" ~ guess who disturbed me this morning. (If you've guessed the Striped Menace, you'd be correct.) What does that galut do? He ducks his head to mine and goes nose to nose with me to smell my breath and make sure that I haven't had anything tastier to eat than he has had. Then he decides to plop his long self directly in front of me. Right in my path. I gave him my "warning cry" to let him know that I was not pleased with him staring at me or blocking my path and then I balanced on 2 paws and smacked him with my third. That's right, right on top of his massive head. Smack, smack, smack, smack, smack as fast as lightening I was. He was so surprised and tried quickly to right himself into a sitting position to smack me back but by then Mama and Papa were hovering over him and he had no choice but to slink away.
I have to go back to the Tortury in 30 days but so do Nuk and Gabby. We all need our yearly vaccinations.
The smacky paw is back~ faster and better than ever!
Yay to free reign! Happy to hear you are doing so well!!

Ah! Sweets! So glad the Cone of Shame is mostly removed. Mine, sigh, will have to stay on for anywhere from 3-5 days. The things we cats must put up with and endure.
