Deja Vu - Ya Ne Viju...
How strange is this? I wrote last year in my
July 25th 2008 Diary that I had scratched my right eye.
Well today... (1 year and almost 1 month later) I have done it again.
(or did I have help?)
There was no *ruckus* that my family heard. Our family had been awake awhile, we cats had our treats and had settled down in comfy places for a little cat-nap. I went to get a drink of water and my family noticed that I was doing my "squinty pirate" imitation again.
I was taken in to the bathroom, my right eye opened and examined and sure enough my third eyelid was all reddened again. My eye was tearing clear tears.
After a phone call to the vet, I was *fit in* for an appointment shortly before noon. Again with the fluorescing drops and the woods lamp.
All to reveal again a small scratch....
But this time I only need my oral antibiotic pills. We still have my Atropine ointment and my Neo-Poly-Bac eye ointment which have not expired!
I have to go back for a recheck in 10 days...
If I have to have Deja Vu days, why can't they be happy ones?
Let's replay my adoption day? or birthdays next time - Ok?
Oooh, fancy title! Sorry to hear about your eye but I bet that you'll get some extra loving and treats as you recover. Sending purrs!
poor girl! perhaps an evil ghost? evil. evil??? where was the boy with the strange fantasies when it happened??
Poor baby! That happened to me once. I remember getting the drops and the v-e-t turning off the light to see the big glowy scratch! Mine was really BIG! The v-e-t said he'd never seen such a large scratch on a kitty's cornea. It hurt a lot. Mommy felt really bad for me and I got lots of extra smooches!
I was in a rhyming mood when I made my diary title!
The. Boy. was sleeping at the time, making certain he is the blameless one! I don't rule out your idea of an evil ghost though. (or perhaps something that The. Boy. himself conjured!)
Scratches really are painful. The Atropine ointment dilates my pupil and that makes it hurt less. Did you know that we can "taste" through our eyes and that Atropine is terribly bitter? Some cats even drool after getting Atropine in their eye. Good thing we were warned about that, it would really scare my family to see me drool. I do lick my lips over and over after an Atropine dose though...
