Arrival Story:
We didn't think we'd be getting another cat after we lost Maggie May, but the house still felt empty 6 months after she left for the bridge. We decided to get our adoption status reactivated at Siamese Rescue in Virginia where we found Terra. We feel Maggie May must have been looking down on us because right after we were approved again a little purebred guy came into rescue and landed at the home of someone we already knew who fostered for SRC. I took one look at this little man and fell in love! He had a strange back story and had been given up by a man who claimed he was vicious and tried to kill his other cat. His foster Mom did not see any aggression in him, in fact he bonded right away with her big shy male cat Zeus and was following him everwhere. He made no moves towards her three female cats, in fact they totally ignored him. We talked a long time, I talk to my interviewer and we all agreed that he would make a fine addition to our family with Blue and Terra. He just arrived here in Montreal on Saturday May 26th, exactly 6 months after Maggie left. We are getting to know him slowly, he's a totally love bug as far as we've seen. He has not met his new brother and sister yet, although Terra is parked outside his room often wiggling her toes under the door. Blue is another story, his nose is out of joint big time, he's a work in progress..

Bio:
Well a year later and so much has changed, D'Arcy, Terra and Blue became fast friends pretty quickly, Blue and D'Arcy actually hit it off first within the first week, Terra soon after. Now all three sleep together, play together and wash eachother as if they've always been together. It's amazing, they actually act like litter mates!

Life with D'Arcy

Five Months Along

November 2nd 2007 3:32 am   [link to this entry]

It's been five months since I traveled up from New Hampshire to my new home in Montreal. I was pretty scared at first, not of the other cats here, but of humans. I hadn't had all that much contact before this home. I bonded with my big brother Blue at first, he hissed a bit, but after we had a game or two with the wand toys and he saw how I could jump high like him things changed pretty quickly. Terra likes chase games, Blue likes to climb high, ump high and wrestle. Guess what? I ♥ to jump, I ♥ to chase, I ♥ to wrestle! It wasn't very long before I was chasing Terra and made a great friend too!
I just fit in so well with both of them. I admit that I probably play more with Terra now then I do with Blue, but us guys hang out together and usually follow eachother around.

I found things easier with Mom, Dad is a really tall guy and I must have had a bad experience with a tall man before because I was super afraid of him. It took some time before I went to him for pets, but now I do it everyday. He's pretty cool, but teases me about running away if he walks too fast. That isn't cool. He should give a guy a break, I am getting much better. Mom is another story..she's basically a puss-over! I pretend to look pathetic and before you can blink an eye she's handing out Temptation Treats to me and Blue. (Don't tell anyone, but Blue actually has been training me to look pathetic so we get more treats...:) )

Last week I got a great surprise, my Auntie Mary in New Hampshire who was my forster Mom for Siamese Rescue sent me my own "Millie Bed". Blue has one, but won't allow me or Terra near it. I was so happy!! It's getting pretty cold up here and that bed is so cosy!

Ok, I'm off now...Terra just ran into the room and out again, I have to go and find her..she's a real tease that one!

I'm very new...

May 29th 2007 12:18 am   [link to this entry]

I just arrived with this family and am still very confused. I spent 7 months in a shelter with my Mom, we were sent there with my Dad and sister when I was only a few days old. Dad and Sis were adopted out quicky, but it seemed no one wanted me or Mom. From what I understand, Mom is still there with no real home. Someone adopted me when I was 7 Months old, but ony kept me for 2 months and dumped me off at another shelter. Siamese Rescue stepped in and took me off to a Foster home and my new Mom and Dad had just been reactivated as approved adopters. They had adopted Terra from Siamese Rescue in 2005. They tell me they fell in love with me and drove 5 hours from the Montreal area to pick me up, and 5 hours home again.

I know I have a brother and sister, my sister sits outside my door sometimes and wiggles her toes at me, she seems pretty nice. My new big brother keeps hissing at me through the door, he doesn't seem that nice, but Mom says he is.
So far, I've recieved lots of toys, good food, lots of pets and cuddles, I think I'm going to like it here, but I'll keep you all posted. Mom says I have to stay in this room for awhile before I can meet the other members of the family, why I don't know.

Purrs,
D'Arcy
