Coloration: Chocolate Dwells:
indoors Arrival Story: We went to a shelter to adopt a cat as companion to our first cat (we only had one cat at the time). They told us that she was rescued from a construction site and extremely malnourished. She was just skin and bones, but she was a beautiful chocolate color and she had this pitiful "take me home" look. After lengthy interviews and what not the shelter let us adopt her. We named her Sadie. The shelter told us we couldn't take her home that day. They have a policy that all animals adopted from them must be spayed/neutered before they are allowed to be taken home. A week later we picked up our kitty, but she seemed even sicklier than before. She had caught what the shelter vets told us was kennel cough. Didn't sound too serious to us. So we took her home. The weeks that followed were horrible. We were at the ER a few times because she was lethargic, dehydrated, etc. They gave us meds. We took her to our vet. They told us she'd be okay...just keep an eye on her. Then one day, I left work early to be home with her. I stopped at a pet store to buy her some toys. When I got home she was near death. I scooped her up and literally ran to the vet, but it was too late. There was nothing they could do for her. The Groups I'm In: !*~in loving memory~*!
