Arrival Story:
One cold and rainy afternoon I was studying at our local Caribou Coffee when I heard a women come in through the patio door and ask the man working behind the counter whether the kitten outside belonged to anyone. I watched the man go outside and pick up this tiny wet thing. I stayed in my seat for a few more moments, telling myself that “I didn’t need another cat.” (I had just gotten Eli a month earlier.) But after another minute or so I couldn’t resist going outside and seeing what this man was holding. He clearly needed to go back inside so he had gestured like he was just going to plop this orange kitten back on the ground. I definitely couldn’t let that happen – we were on a busy corner and there were cars whizzing by. When I first held Boo in my arms, she was so light; I could feel her body shivering from the cold. I wrapped her up into the sweatshirt I was wearing and held her close to me. From that moment on, I knew she was mine. She still has a bit of a feral side to her, but her focusing and her trust in people has come a long way – mainly due to the work that her mama Kris has done with her over the last year.
Bio:
Boo is a very shy cat, but she loves her two Mamas dearly. She loves to watch the birds who arrive at the feeders on our balcony and is fascinated by anything outside.
