I was taking my leash walk, in the wet grass, after a little late spring snowfall. I was minding my own business, as usual, and eating grass. I just happened to be under the bird feeder. The feeder is about 9 feet off the ground. Well, these little chickadees thought nothing of coming to the feeder even though Mom and I were right there! One after another, they would fly to our tree, look at us, and then fly to the feeder and grab a seed and fly back to another tree. I knew I couldn't jump that high (I guess they knew that too) so we just watched. And while I was just sitting there and wishing I could fly, a nasty chickadee pooped on me!!! It almost landed in my eye! Mom busted out laughing and saying something about how she wishes she could have caught that on video. I wish she would have caught bird poop in her own hair instead.
Aren't birds a pain. Mom got a chuckle out of your entry. Then she quoted:
"Up in the sky"
"Oh how glad am I"
"That cows can't fly"
Aren't Moms a pain too?
Yes! Right on Charley. Mom remembers a similar poem now:
"I saw a bird flying in the sky,
It dropped a turd right in my eye,
I did not laugh and I did not cry,
I just thanked the Lord that cows don't fly."
I'm thankful that the chickadee poop didn't land in my eye. It landed on my back.
OH SQUIRREL!!!!! I'm sorry but my meowmy is laughing so hard right now. It's not nice what that birdie did to you but my momma really needed this laugh. Consider this your good deed for the day. MOL MOL MOL! Oh boy, you poor thing. MOL
And what a lovely poem as well! I'll have to tell my grammy this one! MOL. Thanks Squirrel!
Thank you Lacey! Mom and I agreed that it was too funny of a story to not share it. I had my fur clean and glossy within minutes.
Oh I believe that! Your mom wouldn't let you stay like that with bird poopy on you. MOL. My mom and I are still laughing about it, it's a great story and I thank you again for sharing! Brought us a good laugh today. Those little chickadees are sneaky! MOL
At least it was only a wee chickadee...imagine if it was a bigger bird, MOL!
Do you need an umbrella in the future?
MOL! Cute story!
MOL, that's true Pipo. It could have been a big old pigeon or a seagull or something. Blech!!! Maybe Squirrel should wear one of those umbrella hats?! MOL
Squirrel in a umbrella hat!!!MOL!!!MOL!! That's funny! Sorry sweetie, that that happened to you, they say it's good luck you know.
Mom got a laugh out of that too. Sorry you were the one to get crapped on. we gotta come up with device to keep that off of us.
That's true! In Italy they say it's a good omen to get pooped on by a birdie. Too bad you're not in Italy, MOL. I think your meowmy should put an umbrella hat on you and take a picture.
Yeah, Yeah! Do it! UMBRELLA HAT! UMBRELLA HAT!
An umbrella hat! No way. Then the birdies would consider me a target!
I like the idea that it might be good luck to have a bird poop on you. Maybe the good luck will be that Lobo gets all better soon? Mom has had every birdie that she has rescued poop in her hand. Her luck has been pretty good, so maybe it is true? Maybe I should sit under the bird feeder more often.
You are all a lot of fun and sure making this incident a real hoot. Thank you friends. And we are glad if we brightened your day even if only a tiny bit.
Ah, sweetie, I think they have already made you a target. Sorry. What's wrong with Lobo? He's a perfect specimen of a real German Shepard, fellow Catster kitties. Just magnificent! Diamond is sending a note now.
Thank YOU Squirrel! This is comic relief. Poop of any kind is always a fun subject here on Catster. I should know. MOL.
Icky! Bird poo? I think it was mean of your mama to laugh. Would she like bird poo in her fur, errrrr I mean hair?
Yick! I think that bird is asking for it!
UMBRELLA HAT!!! that would be awesome! but I don't blame you for not wanting to wear one.
My mom has heard her whole life that it is good luck when a bird poops on you, but it happened to her a couple times, and she didn't have good luck. :/ hopefully it's different for you!
MOL that sounds so funny.
Those birds are being awfully bold, being as tasty & succulent as they are....
Poor Squirrel I hope that your mum cleaned you up quickly. Purrs Josie
