Enzo's Into Everything

My evening adventure!

We had the wood fence around the house replaced a couple of months ago, so our Cat Fence-in system was removed and thrown away. We haven't been allowed to go outside in a long time anyway, but not because we don't want to!

Huey also knows we want to, so he does this thing now when the patio door is opened for him--he'll stand there and look around as if he's waiting for us to go outside with him. So, last week when it was dark, I slipped outside with Huey right behind me. He got all excited so I ran behind a shrub.

Mom knew it was best to shut the door and remain calm, but first she had to get Huey back into the house. Once she did that she came over and we started having a conversation through the shrub. Then she stuck her hand behind the shrub to tickle my head and I started purring and headbonking her hand.

Next thing you know, mom is trying to pick me up gently but because it was dark and she couldn't see very well, my feet got a little tangled in the shrub in the process, so I started crying and kicking and scratched both of mom's hands and arms real good. Mom knew I wasn't trying to scratch her but even so, she hung onto me and carried me back into the house.

The things they do for love....

Enzo

Whew, so lucky your mom was able to hang on to you! I bet you won't want to go outside for awhile now. How are your mommys poor hands??

Love is all there is..

Love,
Zacky

Ouch! Hope your momma isn't scratched too bad! I've done the same thing before - a long time ago.

Your mom is a tough cookie. It is great that she managed to hold on. I snuck past my mom once, to go out without my harness. but mom got so agitated, and yelled at me. Then she rushed out and herded me back inside like she was a sheepdog. I guess it wasn't even yelling she was doing, it was BARKING.

Zacky, I'm ready to go back outside. We hang around the patio door when we know Huey is going out! Mom's scratches stung and she has scabs now, but she's alive. Thanks!

Jez, the scratches ran from the top of both of mom's hands and down her arm, but she didn't care.

Toki, mom knew that if she and Huey got too worked up that I might get startled, run and jump over the fence. I know the backyard well from going out previously but mom didn't want to follow me around in the dark!

Yeah, Xena, but I miss going outside. I'll have to have a talk with mom and dad about replacing the cat fence-in setup!

Bonks, Enzo
