Arrival Story:
Kiara was one of the kittens of Simba and Nala. She was born in my bedroom on September 29, 1998. Her two sisters are Crystal and Patricia, and her three brothers are Chris, Jake, and Kovu. We did plan to give some of the kittens away, but we got attached! LOL.

She was a real sweetie pie. She was extremely cuddly, and just loved sitting in people's laps and purring. Everyone told us about how unique and pretty her face is. Out of all the kittens, she probably looked the least like either parent. __________________________________ _______ May 07, 2007: The last few days, Kiara hasn't been eating. She looks like she's gotten thinner. We took her to the vet, hoping she just had some virus. It turns out...she has cancer. It's estimated she'll live another week to a month. I'm devastated. She's only eight years old. She's not supposed to die yet. She's still middle aged. She was one of those little babies that I saw born. I'm just praying that she doesn't suffer any. We got some medication to hopefully increaser her apatite, but that's all that can truthfully be done. It's...only going to be a little while before she joins all the angels at the Rainbow Bridge. Gosh, I'm crying while writing this. I don't want her to leave. __________________________________ _______ May 09, 2007: I passed away this morning. Mom and Grandma took me to the vet to get a needle biopsy done to see whether I had lymphoma or carcinoma in my liver. This morning, I was meowing very loudly, and was trying to hide from Mom and Grandma. Mom was cuddling me at the vet clinic earlier, and when I meowed and my mouth opened really big, she saw exactly how yellow my gums had become. She was very worried, but hoped for the best. Mom had to leave shortly after that. She gave me a kiss and told me she loved me. Mom went to school (she takes online courses, but has to go up to the office to study for three hours a day) and was bored stiff. She'd finished all her school work for the semester a few days ago, so she talked to a few Catsters, and Murphy and Kuai Kuai from Dogster, on IM for a while. She was in the middle of talking to Shadow (the kitty from Wichita) and Murphy when she felt her phone vibrate. She'd set it on vibrate just in case the vet had to phone her. She asked the instructor if she could answer it, and explained my situation. When Mom answered the phone, she wanted to die. Grandma was in bawling. She called Mom and told her that I was struggling for breath, and was in terrible pain. She said that I would have to be put to sleep. I was dieing. She wanted to know if Mom wanted to be there. Mom said yes, and that she'd wait for Grandma to pick her up from the office (she has Grandma drive her there, since finding a parking space is HECK). Mom started bawling. Her teacher came up and let her cry on her shoulder, as she told her that I was going to be euthanised. The instructor soothed her. Mom's so grateful for her. At her old school, the teachers really didn't care, especially about pets. Anyhow, Mom closed the laptop at this point, so I'm sorry for disappearing like that, to anyone I (or anyone else in my family) was IMing. Meanwhile, Grandma was at the vet clinic with the vet and me. I was gurgling, and couldn't breath. I trembled from the pain. Grandma didn't have the time to come pick up Mom from school, as it was across town. The vet called Mom and explained it to her. Mom thanked the vet, and told her she didn't want me to suffer. The vet then put me to rest. Grandma held my hand until I went limp, and then started bawling on the vet's shoulder. Mom and Grandma are both crushed. They were really hoping and praying that I could have been saved, or at least lasted longer, but they didn't want to prolong my suffering.
