outdoors Arrival Story: This cat has lived for some time in the parking lot at my office. She and her kittens came to the attention of some people who were concerned they would be run over by cars and who then called Animal Control. Animal Control told us that if she was caught, she would be taken to a shelter where she would be put down if not adopted within 2 weeks. As a feral adult cat, her chances for adoption were very slim. We did catch her, but rather than turn her over to the SPCA, I had her spayed and rereleased her on my property out in the country. I later learned that this is not the best way to relocate an outdoor cat, but it was too late. I continue to put out food for her, but she has not been seen since her release almost a week ago. Her kittens are temporarily being kept with us but they will be going to a no-kill shelter in the hopes of finding loving homes. This was our first foray into cat rescue and will be our last as it is too emotionally draining. I've Been On Catster Since:
