Hi again!

Hi again, here I am once more! Mom and Dad got kind of busy for a while, so I haven't been on here for a little while.

Well, everything is going ok. Mom and Dad brought home a new adopted canine brother - Vinnie (his page is on Dogster).

At first I didn't know what to think, but shoot! Vinnie is no bigger than I am. I like this!

I don't like a big, rough dog, but Vinnie - now he's ok! We can play together and even lay in the sun together.

Mom and Dad have a hard time finding dogs that we felines can get along with - but I think they hit the jackpot here!

I am doing fine - growing a little older, but I still have plenty of pep in me and I'm very healthy.

I still love petting, rubbing on things, toys and I play a lot - and I love Mom - I don't know about sharing her with the new dog, but I'm doing my best! Mom does find lots of time for me and opportunities for us to be together like we used to.

All in all, life is good at our house.

update

We found out my feline brother Chance had cancer today - its sad, but he did test negative for FIP - so we are happy about that part of it!

Anyway, the vet is giving Chance medicine and we hope he may get better and be able to maintain.

I am doing fine - Mom and Dad are glad I am too, because they've had too much pet sickness and loss lately.

I was very stressed with the new dog, and Mom and Dad have been trying to help that - but finally I am getting a little more bold and I was out and about today.

Mom has been playing extra with me too to try to help my stress level - and it does help.

Mom is continuing to go to VA school at nights - but she took tonight off and is staying with us, since my brother Chance is sick tonight. She has tomorrow off too (every Friday off) and then will go back Monday.

Mom has a bad headache tonight too and a toothache - we've just had a diffcult time in our home lately.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Wishing all on Catster a Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

Not a lot to write about for now. Mom and Dad took our furry canine sister, Gretchen and traveled south to Salida, Colorado for the weekend. They stayed in a room in Salida, then drove south on Sunday to the Great Sand Dunes. This would have been very nice, but conditions there were awful - terrible wind and I heard them say it was like being sand blasted! ha ha

Well, isn't that what they get for taking the dog and leaving us felines at home with the neighbors?? You know they always take the dog! ha ha

We were fine and just had a lot of fun and partied down while everybody was away. The neighbors took good care of us too. We also got some good "cat naps" in too.

Mostly, we behaved ourselves, which Mom and Dad were very glad about!

Everybody is home now, including the dog! Anyway, its a quiet evening here now, but tomorrow morning I have to go with Mom to the vet and get my vaccinations. Mom is having me microchipped too - Mom and Dad didn't have any of our fur family microchipped before, but they decided it would be a good thing - so I'm getting stuck tomorrow - ouch!

Haven't been on the site for a while

Hey All furry friends out there!

I haven't been on the site for a while. We've had some sad news - my canine "brother" Noah - who was in our home for 10 years or more - recently passed on from old age health complications. I loved him a lot, and have really been missing him.

But now we have a new arrival - Gretchen. Well, she is ok, but she's a puppy and causes some mischief. She kind of worries me, and I've been hiding some.

But Mom has given me lots of love, and is trying to work on better manners for Gretchen - so I am beginning to feel a little braver, and I think everything will work out ok.

I've been a very good kitty. I snuggle with Mom often, and burrow under the covers on her bed.

I am also in really good health right now, and I'll go see our vet soon for my annual vaccinations and to get microchipped - Mom and Dad are trying to make sure all their fur babies are microchipped now.

Well, not much has happened lately except I had some ear problems. It was nothing serious - the vet just said my ears needed cleaning out. She did that, and then I felt pretty good again.

Its been quiet and we haven't been to Denver lately. Mom decided it was better to stay home in south central CO, and besides we had a bunch of appointments we had to go to this week - vet appts and my doggie "brothers" grooming appt.

So we don't really have too much to write about. Weather has been mostly nice here, and I've had a lot of sunshine to sit in. But last night we got a lot of snow, so Mom and my doggie brother Noah and I all snuggled to keep warm.

But today, Dad is coming home from work! And we're really excited about that. We expect him very soon now, so when he comes we'll all run out to meet him and I'll mark him really good too! he he

This weekend Mom and Dad and Noah are all going to Denver - so that means I get to be boarded. But I don't mind so much - I go to our vet's for boarding and they have a really nice place there for me. I do just fine - they have birds for me to watch and they even play music too and let me watch out the window - pretty nice!

Well, Dad just came in, so we're signing off for now! Got to go mark him!!

Sunday May 13th Mother's Day

Well I hope all the Mother's out there have a nice day, today!

My Mom doesn't have human kids, just us "fur babies". So she doesn't consider herself really a mother - she just kind of lays low today and sometimes she feels a little down on mother's day - but she always gets through it!

Its been quiet here; Mom and Dad spent some time together just for them on Friday. Saturday they went to Colorado Springs to the apartment building we applied to and took my picture and my doggie "brother's" picture to the management there so they could see how big we were, and what we looked like.

Mom told them I was only about 5 lbs. They couldn't believe how small and petite I am! he he But its true!

Its been pretty and sunny all weekend here in Woodland Park and remarkably warmer too. I've enjoyed sitting in the sunshine and chirping and batting at the birds lately.

And Dad finally got some more bird food - so there are more birds now too!

I'm doing well and just doing what I always do. Mom gets out the laser pointer and we play with that sometimes.

Its just been a slow weekend - we are all still tired from last week, being in Denver.

Mom is going to stay here with us until maybe Wednesday this week. She thinks we all need some rest, and the dog has to go back to the vet and get his stiches out on Tuesday too.

So, not much else to report for now. I'm just continuing to be cute!! ha ha

Well, we're back home here in Woodland Park now. Nothing much has been going on either. Its been quiet, but that's ok - we were all tired anyway. We all got a good night's rest too.

Mom's just been unpacking and doing laundry - after the week in Denver, Mom has to go get groceries soon too.

Mom and Dad plan a day out by themselves today - no kitties or puppies allowed. Usually they take us, but I think today they just need time to themselves. That's ok - we'll be good. They won't be gone too long.

(Well, at least I'll be good - that dog sometimes gets into trouble - but he's a "dog" - what can I say? - cats do rule you know! he he)

I haven't done a lot. Mom sat my bed that we took to Denver in a new temporary place - well, I thought that was just great and laid in it all last night. Usually my bed stays in one place, but sometimes I like it in a different spot for variety.

Nothing much else is new here - Sunday is mother's day. Mom will probably "lay low" on that day because she could never have kids - so she's not a real "mom" and its hard for her - not her favorite day.

But she does wish all other mothers a very nice day! Its great that they have a special day for themselves

Mom misses her own Mom too - she's still living in Missouri, and Mom had hoped to go visit her for mother's day, but with us getting very close to time for moving - she just can't right now

But they will talk on the phone and Mom already sent her a nice card in the mail.

Beyond that, nothing else is happening - boring!!

Well, its Thursday and we're still her in Denver with Dad. Dad went to work a little while ago, so we're just here in the room with Mom.

We've had a nice visit here since Monday. Mostly I just stay inside, but that's usually what I do anyway.

But that's ok - because I have a new place to explore - and believe me, I've checked it out pretty good too!

I have my bed, litter pan and everything I need here - so this is just like a second home to me.

Today I will travel back home with my doggie brother "Noah" and Mom - Dad works today but he has tomorrow off and he'll follow tomorrow.

We've had marvelous weather here this week - plenty of sunshine to lie around in.

And I found a nice warm place to sit - but Mom doesn't like it - because its the laptop - want to hear something funny? I sit right on the "mouse" - ok, cute isn't it - well, Mom doesn't think so and she makes me get off! Boy, the nerve!!

My other fun trick while I was here was to throw up a hair ball right into the air conditioner unit! he he Well, that didn't make Mom happy either - but its ok - Dad got out his phillips screwdriver, took off the cover and cleaned it, it didn't go too far inside.

We're not telling anybody about that of course, and Mom just gave me hair ball medicine too - my hair is real short and I don't have problems with them often, just sometimes.

Not like my sister Sheba who has passed on now - her hair was so long, she had to be treated for them really often - I'm glad my fur is real short.

Well, that's all to write from here. We're headed home soon, and my next entry will be from there.

I'm in Denver today

Well, here I am in Denver, CO today - early this morning we woke up in Wooldland Park, CO (which is 77 miles southwest of Denver) - to 1 1/2 feet of snow, and it was still coming down!

So Mom was going to take me and my "sister" Ashira (she's a cat) to Denver later to be with Dad this week, who works there - but since weather was so bad, Mom and Dad decided to go to Denver together - so we all packed up really early, and now here we are in Denver.

We'll stay here most of this week, or until Mom decides we'd better go home.

Dad does contract engineering work here in Denver - he couldn't find any work close to home for now. His contract is 3 months, so we hope that at the end of it, he can find work closer to home.

But for now, me and my "brother" Noah (a dog, on dogster) go with Mom when we can to stay with Dad in Denver - it gets pretty lonely staying at home without Dad all week. Mom says I"m a very good traveling kitty, too!

So right now we just arrived not long ago - Noah is tired and resting. But I'm checking the place out pretty good and just took a break to write this.

So I'll write more from Denver later - I"m a Denver kitty for a while!

Hi from Ashira

Hi! I am Ashira, a petite gray and white female cat - spayed - and I'm about 8 or 9 years old (the shetler Mom and Dad adopted me from wasn't sure about my age - they didn't have too much history on me).

I've been with Mom and Dad now for 3 years or so. I live here with them and Noah, the dog (on dogster).

We have a close and happy home (usually).

However, we just moved to Woodland Park, CO from the Twin City area of Minnesota - so we've gone through many changes here now.

And soon we are moving to Colorado Springs - Woodland Park hasn't worked out as well as we'd hoped - for one thing, my Dad couldn't find a job near here, but works now in SE Denver.

So he's gone and stays in a room there during the week - and sometimes Mom takes me and Noah and we all go stay with him there.

Last week my "brother" Noah (the dog) had surgery so we stayed home - but this week Mom and Dad think he's ok to go there and he can rest and recover there too.

Denver is expensive to live in, so I don't think we'll move there. But Colorado Springs has good mass transit connections to there - so I think that's where we're moving - probably on or before July 31st.

But tomorrow Mom is taking me and Noah and we're going to Denver to be with Dad tomorrow and most of this week - (the week of May 6th).

I travel better than most kitties too - Mom says I'm an amazing little traveler - for a cat! She said I did really great coming from Minnesota out here to Colorado, too.

So I'll make more diary entries, but they will be from Denver this week. I can write from our laptop.

Well, that's all for now. I'm healthy and well, and get into all sorts of trouble, but Mom and Dad love me a lot - and usually they just smile and say how cute I am! (except if I nibble on Mom's plants - she doesn't like that at all - she keeps me away from them too, but I sometimes have my "ways" to get to them. I'm sneaky! he he But Mom is always careful not to keep the poisonous ones).
