My husband and I were in an apartment while searching for a house, my father and father-in-law had just died within the past 4 months, and I was lonely and missing having an animal companion. My husband had surprised me with a Lab-mix puppy, and dogs were not allowed there; besides the small apartment with no yard was no place for an active large puppy who would soon become a larger active dog. The landlord had said a cat was OK, so the pup was returned to the man who gave her to us. I went to the animal shelter, and a tiny gray-and-white kitten chose us, and she came to live with us. It was a cloudy, stormy day, and she was feisty, so we named her after the weather; her gray "clouds" on her white coat looked just like the sky that day.
Bio:
After 16 yearsof robust good health, she began to lose weight despite always having an enormous appetite; she became weak and went from 18 lb. to 12, then 10, and became jaundiced, A trip to the vet discovered a large liver tumor. By then she could barely make it to her litter box, climb stairs, or even get ino her favorite chair. After agonizing over the decision, I held her in my arms and said goodbye, as our kind and compassionate vet assisted her in her journey across the Rainbow Bridge. She may be gone, but will never be forgotten.
