Louie came to us as an owner surrender into Bengal Cat Rescue. He is an Early Generation (F1) Bengal. They normally bond with one person, and it is very difficult for them to adjust to CHANGE.
The first people to get Louie from the breeder realized their children were allergic, so he was returned to the breeder. A few weeks later, he was flown to another home, where he was afraid of their small children. Then he was flown to another family, and after all those flights, he was just too scared to become comfortable. Then this time, he was flown to come stay with me. So he is very skittish. (I am his 5th home) After all those flights, I feel ANY cat would be skittish, and nervous about what would happen next.
When I was asked if I would take him in, to work with him - and possibly give him a permanent home, I QUICKLY agreed.
He does not like to be picked up, and the people who owned him wanted a kitty that would like to be held more. They felt he was unhappy at their house, because he hid a lot of the time, and acted very scared.
I have been working with him, every day, since he arrived, talking softly to him, playing with him with interactive toys, and feeding him really yummy treats, when I go in his room to visit.
He has a room-mate, while he is adjusting to all this "change" named Snowdrop. She is a temporary foster kitty, whose adoptive mom became ill, so I am taking care of Snowdrop, while her other mommy gets well.
He seemed VERY scared of the cage we had set up for him, so since Snowdrop had stayed in the cage, when we fostered her before she found her furrever home, she decided to move into the cage, so he wouldn't be so scared of her. ( I did not PUT her in the cage, I had it open, to put him in it, and she just walked in, settled down in the little bed I had there, for him, and acted as if she was fine with the arrangement.) This has worked out, very well, and they play through the bars of the cage, and Snowdrop comes out to play, when my son, or I am in the room to clean litter boxes, feed them, and play with them.
He was being called "Lucas" when he came to me, but I noticed he doesn't really like the "SSS" sound in words, so I called him BABY or Lukie, for a little while, then I started calling him Louie, and he seems responsive to that name.
Even though he is still very timid, and a little scared of being touched; he is such a beautiful little cat, and does love to PLAY.
I am slowly introducing the other cats in his "new" family to him, and allow them to come in, only one or two at a time, to meet him, and play with him -- and he is very curious about his new house-mates.
Even if Louie never becomes a LAP cat -- he will be safe and loved, here with our family. The breeder where he came from is a nice lady, and she said if he doesn't work out, here, she would be willing to take him back, and let her mother be his forever home, but that would mean another LONG airplane trip, so we are going to try to allow him to become one of OUR family, here, forever.

I was tagged by a cute little kitten named Coco
The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog.
1. I'm very shy
2. I do not like for BEANS to touch me - but I let meowmy pet me a little.
3. I LOVE the big windows in my room, where I watch squirrels and birds and bugs outside.
4. I love when meowmy plays with me with feather or furry toys.
5. I've finally made friends with Snowdrop, who shares my room with me.
6. I'm still a little afraid of all the other cats. So, I puff my tail real big and growl, when they come in to visit.
7. I don't EVER want to fly in a plane again. Meowmy promises me I can stay here, and be safe and LOVED, FURREVER !!
