Arrival Story: Saw his adoption photo online at Longmont Humane Society. Wanted a kitten so that he could get used to car travel as we have a mountain cabin as a second home we go to frequently. He had the most expressive, big brown eyes, although he was suffering from a pretty bad upper respiratory infection. His shelter name was Smokey, but wanted a more unique name and renamed him after his eyes--Emerson big brown eyes! He purred immediately when my husband picked him up.

Bio: The first week home we wanted to get him a hard hat! He was totally out of balance and fell off everything. Had no sense of space either. We noticed his whiskers were really short, like someone had cut them. (We guess it could have been a child when he was in foster care?). His first fall was sliding down the bannister of our staircase, face first, smashing his head into the fireplace at the bottom! He would cuddle up with me at night and after falling asleep, he would fall off the bed! He even fell out of his cat tree after falling asleep! So I think he's already down to 7 lives, poor baby. But his whiskers have grown in and he's very coordinated now.
I found him a holistic vet as well. The "regular" vet over vaccinated him in my opinion, as he got VERY ill after his last set of shots, although they gave him a clean bill of health BEFORE they vaccinated him! His new vet is a Godsend and uses homeopathic to treat him first--it works and he's never getting anymore shots. He's finally recovering and his fur sheen is coming back again.
Although I work in a home office, Emerson also told me he was very lonely for another feline companion to wrestle around with. We adopted a little snowshoe female, Samantha "Sammie" about a month or so younger than Emerson. He fell immediately in love with her and pines for her attention. I'll post some adorable photos. He's so happy now and more affectionate than ever.
We never saw a grey cat with brown eyes before. The shelter didn't know what type of cat he was, but
