Arrival Story:
Stewart was first discoverd back in December while I was outside watering the plants. He was living in the crawlspace of the home next to us. The hose was quite fascinating to him, so he came out from his underground home to investigate. I coaxed him over to the swing, so he could lay on a clean pillow and watch the birds while I finished with the plants. The swing soon became his home. Stewart lived in the back garden area for several months. I would visit with him on a daily basis, give him fresh food and water, and brush his fur. He loves having the comb run thru his fur. One day, when I went to the garden to visit Stewart, he was gone. He would on occasion venture out into the neighborhood. He had a friend who lived 2 blocks up from us that he would hang out with. I thought he was running the streets with his friend but that he would return at the end of the day. Stewart did not come back. He was missing for 10 days. During those 10 days I feared that he had been either hit by a car, or that someone had come along and taken him from me. We went to the Animal Shelter looking for Stewart in hopes that someone would have turned him in. One night when I came home from work, I saw the shadow of a cat coming down the sidewalk between our house and the neighbors. It was Stewart. I dropped my purse, ran to him and picked him up. He was purring so loudly. I brought him inside and checked him over. He was in perfect condition. From that day on, we decided that Stewart would live inside where he would be safe.
