Arrival Story:
Dixie Dan has been adopted by a fabulous couple today!! He seemed very pleased and comforted by the lovely people who are going to give him a loving forever home! Looking back on how he came to us.... He wandered into our yard, and the neighbor found his tags. We found the address of his prior family, but the apartment office there stated that the people PCS'd (military move) months prior. Dixie Dan had been dumped. Since we found him he has been going to adoption days at Petsmart in attempts to find his forever home. We have had him in our house now for a little over 8 months, and we have grown to love him, but we still cannot keep him. He is a fabulous lapcat. He is a talkative companion. He is a calm, observant kitty. He is an excellent companion for someone who just wants to LOVE. After getting to know Dixie Dan, I can't imagine how anyone would be able to put him out in the rain and cold and often extreme heat in a place with busy streets and countless hazards. No animal deserves such disrespect for its life.

Bio:
The things we have noticed so far: 1. He is afraid of cars, dogs, and loud people big or small. 2. Since he was an outdoor cat, he brought us two field mice. 3. He does well in the house and knows how to use the scratching post and litter box. 4. He will meow like he is holding a conversation. 5. He knows how to open cabinets without help.

Additional Info::
At the end of April I took Dixie to get scanned for a chip, and turned out the vet had a file with his information. I tried to track down the owners, but they were military and have left the area.

My Quest for a Family


I FINALLY HAVE A FOREVER HOME!!

Hey, Everybody. I am so excited. Today was my first day with my brand new family. My foster Mom is sad to see me go, but she is so happy that I found someone who loves me just as much if not more than she does. I now have a quiet home with just a mommy and a daddy.
It took a little over a year, but please don't lose faith if you need a home, too. Keep on praying. Have faith. Somebody loves you, they just don't know it yet.


I'm going to be on TV!!!!

Hey, Everybody.
I am so excited. Today when my current mommy came to pick me up from Petsmart she got some good news. The animal welfare group that is trying to adopt me out (All About Animals in Macon) is going to put me on their weekly news segment this coming Sunday! I will be on 13WMAZ at 8:40 in the morning. Then I will be back at Petsmart that Sunday hoping that my forever home will receive me that day. Please pray for me! I hope I can contain myself and behave like the good kitty I truly am.

Today Foster Mom and Dad decided to take new pictures of me. They also got a video of me. I try to make it very difficult to get any pictures because I like to move really fast and don't do the same things twice. I like to keep things interesting.
I still haven't found a home yet, and I hope I do soon. I'm really coming out of my shell at the adoption days. Folks want to look at me, but don't take me home though.
