Arrival Story:
Found Mufasa in the adoption forum of Catster. At first was just trying to help find someone to adopt him by posting in the forum, but his little face just touched my heart and decided to try to adopt him. Had a hard time arranging to meet him as his former mom's schedule and mine didn't coordinate well, but was able to go and pick him up on the day that he had to be out of his former mom's apartment. We had a three hour drive to get home, but he was a very good traveler. His new sister is anxiously awaiting the day when she gets to meet him, but he is currently in a room of his own until all his vet work is done.

6-16-07 Mufasa got to meet Bella today after getting vet clearance. She hissed at him a little and he, being a perfect gentleman, just ignored it. Now they are both sleeping on mom's bed and seem to be doing well. November 2008 Mufasa now has another sister (Little Coqui) and he is such a sweet boy. Both his sisters love him and he is Mommie's pride and joy. He is very gentle, enjoys playing and has recently started sleeping with Mommie and even purrring on occasion! I don't think he will ever be a lap cat, but he has gradually become more cuddly and affectionate. 8-27-2010 Mufasa now has two more sisters, Little Coqui and Chica. He loves both of them. Fasa is the guardian of the house, always coming out to watch anyone new that comes in the house. Loves to sit in the window and watch the birds outside.

I'm radioactive!!!

Well, it all started about a month ago. I started having a very bad problem. (okay, I had diarrhea and was going outside of the litter box). Mommie took me in the car to see the VET! And while I was there, they stole my blood! then Mommie took me home.

Later that day, the VET called and told Mommie I had something called hyperthyroidism. He talked about what we should do and Mommie decided that she should take me to college! So she called the University of Wisconsin (I think that is because she went to college there and so she though I should go there too). So last week she took me on a very long car ride to Madison to the university.

The people there were pretty nice, except they also stole some of my blood! and they took my blood pressure and did X-rays. They told Mommie I had a fast heart rate and slightly high blood pressure and gave her medicine to give me two times a day. They said I was a good boy except I got a little hissy when I was in back and there were dogs back there!

Later they called Mommie and told her that my level was 27.2 and they were surprised it was so high. I guess that means I'm smart, because they told her to bring me back on Monday.

So this morning we took another long ride to college. But this time Mommie left me here. They gave me a shot and put me in this cage in a room with some other kitties and they said I'm radioactive. I don't exactly know what that means, but Mommie told me on the way to college that I had to stay at college for a few days. So I guess I'm stuck here with the other radioactive cats until I can learn enough to get out of here. I hope that is soon!

Night all from your glowing orange friend, Fasa

New Year, Old Friends

Well, it's a new year. Not sure what that means exactly, but I know it isn't a good thing. It started on Thursday, which was an okay day. Then the next day, in the middle of the day, Mommie said she didn't feel good and she actually went back to bed! I was quite concerned, because she never does that, so I went in and sat with her a while. We all kept her company while she tried to rest. Then after it turned dark outside, she got up to go into the bathroom but, instead of doing her regular stuff in there, she started making noises like she was trying to get rid of a hairball! This is peculiar, since she doesn't clean herself like we do so I don't know how she got a hairball. Anyway, after that she went and laid down again and we kept her company the rest of the night. In the morning, she didn't have her coffee, she forgot to feed me, and all she did was sit and stare at the TV most of the day (she eventually did feed me, but only after I complained a lot and tried to open the treat box by myself) She seemed like she was getting back to normal later in the day on Saturday and I was hoping this new year thing was over. Then this morning she got up, got her coffee, fed me and went to look at her computer-just like she usually does. But suddenly she started to cry. Well, I thought I had about had it with the new year thing by then! So I climbed on her lap to see what was on the computer and there was a picture of our friend Pie. Mommie said she was now an angel and was with BeeJay and Sneakers and Boots and her brother and sister (Cagney and Lacey) and all of our friends who have traveled to the Bridge. No wonder Mommie was crying. Bella came up to cuddle and Mommie held her close and told her the news, all the while getting her fur wet. We are all very sad for Pie's Mom, but here is the good thing about the new year: The brightest star in the heavens is shining up there, as the angels all sing and welcome Pie. Pie is now healthy and has so much energy she is making breakfast for the whole Bridge! She has these wings that keep getting in the way, so she has tied them back with her apron strings to keep them out of the pancake batter. And her halo keeps sliding down onto her nose because it is too big, so they are taking it out to have it sized for her (it should be back soon). And all of us on earth feel the breeze from her dancing and hear the stories she is telling and we know that it is love that makes this new year okay. Because Love is Forever. Years come and go, but the bond between us and our humans is always there. So today, even though we are sad that Pie is no longer here on earth, we will celebrate her spirit which remains with all of us, but especially with her Mom, forever. Fly free sweet friend!

I have been here with Mommie for almost seven years! Mommie was just talking to some of my aunties this past weekend (Auntie Dar, Auntie Wendy and Auntie Debbie were visiting) about how she came and got me and brought me home. I was scared and was very shy then. Who knew that I would grow into a very friendly and outgoing kittie? Well, I did. I love attention and I always greet anyone who comes to visit. And I love my Mommie and even cuddle with her at times. It has been a wonderful seven years. I have met so many wonderful friends here in Catsterland. I love you all (especially my darling fiancée, Angel Bobbie Sue).
