Mom woke up this morning thinking of that wonderful day in 2000.
She and my Uncle picked me up at the Airport. When the man brought out my carrier I was calm and I even said Meowlo!
Mom got me home and rushed to email my furrst Mom that I arrived safe and sound. It was a short flight and I loved travelling. I did a bit of that when I was shown in Cat Shows and also when I would visit Seniors to cheer them up.
Oh and did I mention the surprise? There were two budgies in my new home! And when I looked out the window there were lots of squirrels to watch!
I knew right away I was going to be pampered here. In January I would be turning 5 and I'm so glad that Mom adopted me. Older kitties can adjust very nicely to a new home when it's filled with LOVE!
Manx to the Birthday and Gotcha Club for sending me a Party Hat to celebrate my very special day. You're the best!
*spinkles Angel Dust on all of you*
Well I nudged Mom to try and write something PAWSITIVE about Autumn. I'm sure she's not the only one who loves Spring and Summer.
So (with my help) Mom started thinking of how when the temperatures start to drop, she wants to be warm inside where it's cozy. Then she starts to thinking about all the lonely kitties who need a home to be warm in during the long, cold Winter.
Maybe that's what sparked her to keep searching for a kitty in the Autumn of 2000. She couldn't find any Manx locally, so she checked out the Internet. She found my furrst Mom's web page for Rumplestump Manx. Eventually Mom adopted me and I arrived 2 November. I was almost 5 years old!
While Mom waited for my arrival, she knew I would need a companion cuz I was use to being with other kitties. This time, she contacted the local Humane Society and a litter that was being fostered had one kitten with no tail! Wow! Mom was overjoyed! Baby Jobél and her furrmily had been rescued from the streets. Eventually Mom adopted her and she arrived 4 December.
I wanted Mom to remember all the EXCITEMENT she felt that Autumn. When you wait as she had for two years to grieve her last (tailed) cat Chip, you have to believe that when you open your heart again .... someone extra-special will be waiting to be loved! For Mom, that some one became TWO!
We celebrate the ABUNDANCE of Autumn in the Manx Mansion. Oh yes, the warm weather is leaving and the winds are getting chilly. Mom is thinking of photo projects, maybe a photo book of her "Girls" .... "ZO and JO". That will bring some tears but lottsa smiles, too. We know we are blessed and that's what is so GREAT about Autumn!
