Nicknames: Ray, Ray Man, Raymundo, Raybee, Ray Ray, Sleeky Shrimp
Birthday: October 13th 2004
Likes: Running through the house at blinding speed, tagging my Moms, chasing my pipecleaner "bugs"
Pet-Peeves: Cabinets with baby locks on them, the vacuum cleaner!
Favorite Toy: "bugs" homemade out of colored pipecleaners, my catnip shrimp from England!
Favorite Nap Spot: In the crevice on the couch between Jean's leg and the arm rest
Favorite Food: Evo Chicken canned food, Royal Canin dry food for indoor cats
Skills: I have a vertical leap of about 5 feet, and I run really fast!
Arrival Story: My Mom and my brothers and I were fostered by our Auntie Steph who volunteers for Pacific Siamese Rescue in Northern California. We met our Mommys when we were 10 day old kittens and the rest is history.
Bio: I started out life as a blue-eyed kitten and then my eyes turned golden. My Mother is a beautiful Grey Tonkinese named Nell. My brother Busby and I are litter mates, but we couldn't look more different!
The origin of my name: I was named Raymond after my cousin Matthew's cat whose name was also Raymond. "Maxpower" came from an episode of the Simpsons where Homer changes his name. "Nelson" is partly due to my Grandmother's maiden name being Nelson and partly due to the fact that my Mom's name is Nell so I am Nell's son.
Hey everycat, I wonder if you know my friend Jake? Jake just needs ONE more friend to reach 500 friends! So come on Catsters, send Jake those friend requests so he can reach 500 and beyond!
One of Jake's 499 friends is my brother Alex. Jake has a photo on his page that he made for Alex on Alex's 23rd birthday a couple months ago. (pre-bridge) Isn't that cool of Jake to honor our brother that way?
Jake is a cool cat! Everycat should have a friend like Jake!
Hi Catsters! Wow, it's been quite awhile since I have meowed at all of you. My family has been on a sabbatical from Catster for the past few months. Frankly, after Alex went to the bridge, it was difficult for my Mom to get back into the Catster-groove. His journey to the bridge, while expected, was still very overwhelming. We have missed all of you and want to thank everycat who has pmailed and sent us rosies and gifts.
Today is my 4th birthday! It's my brother Busby's 4th birthday too! We are the first cats my Moms ever had whose birthdays they actually know. We were born at the home of a lady in Castro Valley, CA who fosters cats for Pacific Siamese Rescue. (Castro Valley is where the famous Skeezix lives!) We came to live in Capitola with another PSR foster human, along with our cat-Mom Nell and our third brother Leo. Yep, just three boys in our litter.
Anyway, Busby and I are celebrating our birthdays by lounging in the sun this morning. Both of our Moms are home today because it is a holiday, so we are going to get a lot of lap time, furminator time, treats, playtime, etc.
Busby and I are going to have our pages updated soon and plan to spend more time meowing with all of you here on Catster. Meanwhile, purrs and love from our whole family! xo, Raymond the birthday boy.
Well it's been 12 days today since my older brother Alex went to the bridge. At first, it was very confusing for Busby and I. Even though we were with Alex when he flew away to the bridge, we still weren't quite sure where he went.
The next morning when he wasn't around at breakfast time, I had no one to sniff at. Oh sure, I could sniff at my brother Busby, but Alex always had interesting smells and tastes. Busby and I weren't very hungry when we saw that Al wasn't going to be joining us for breakfast. In fact, we didn't eat well for a couple of days.
Now that some time has passed, we understand that Alex is at the bridge. He has actually been visiting us here pretty regularly. He will make the curtains move when there is hardly any breeze coming in the window. We think he visited us as a hummingbird this afternoon, he just hovered in the window while Buzz and I sat transfixed.
Anyway, we are still adjusting to life without Alex. He has been our constant companion since we came to our forever home in December 2004. We know we have some really big pawprints to fill!
I hope you all enjoy my new Labor Day page! My Mom is from a very Union family. Grandpa was very active in the Steelworkers Union (Local 1014, Gary, Indiana). Mom used to be a member of the Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers Union, and my Nurse Mom is a member of the SEIU. Busby and I are members of the Cats Who Miss Alex Union.
