Arrival Story: We rescued Catsy on April 13, 2007 from years and years on the street as a stray and took her to the vet because she appeared to be ill. She had an open wound on her leg that was infected with three types of bacteria that needed to be drained and stitched closed. Her long hair was soaked in urine and stool and her coat had to be removed entirely. She had ticks too. But worst of all, she weighed only 5 pounds and was severely malnourished, dehydrated and anemic. She was infested with 3 kinds of worms, infected with bartonella and suffered from coccidia and other ailments. She also had a broken tail. These things would be hard for any cat to overcome, but she is at least 15 years old, and she had been living under these conditions for many years.
The doctors were not sure she would make it, but over the last several months she has shown us that she will. She has gotten stronger, put on weight and grown some fur.
Bio: We lost Catsy on September 28, 2008. All of her years suddenly caught up to her, and she went into kidney failure. We did everything possible to try to save her because she cheated death many times! But it was her time to fly, and so we just remember her and love her and miss her every day.

My Forever Love:
A Stray Cat's Prayer: Dear God, please send me somebody who'll care.
I'm so tired of running and sick with despair.
My body is aching and filled with such pain;
And dear God I pray, as I run in the rain
That someone will love me and give me a home,
A warm cozy bed, and food of my own.
My last owner left me alone in the yard...
I watched as they moved, and God that was hard.
So I waited a while, then went on my way
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now, God, I'm so tired and hungry and cold;
And I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.
They've chased me with sticks and hit me with straps
While I run the streets just looking for scraps.
I'm not really bad, God, please help if you can,
For I have become just a "Victim of Man."
I'm wormy, dear God, and I'm ridden with fleas;
And all that I want is an Owner to please.
If you find one for me, God, I'll try to be good.
I won't scratch the carpet; I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, play with them, and try to obey.
I will be so grateful if they'll let me stay.
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
'Cause I'm getting weak and I'm so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
'Cause I'm so afraid, God, that I'm gonna die.
I've got so much love and devotion to give
That I should be given a new chance to Live.
So dear God, please hear me, please answer my prayer,
And send me somebody who will REALLY care.

Tomorrow my family will celebrate the very first birthday of Lilith, Gilmore and Hazel! We think they were born in April, and so their birthday is celebrated on the anniversary of the day my Grandma and Mommy rescued me after a lifetime of being unwanted. Butters will celebrate his birthday too, but he is not 1!
Instead of being sad on what would have been my second anniversary in my home, everyone will be happy and playing with their new birthday presents and eating a lot of Fancy Feast!
I am thankful for all my friends on Catster and hope everyone is having a great holiday and a great spring!
Well, I think my work with the stray kitties I helped Mommy catch is done. After all, they each have their own Catster page now! We all know what that means, although I am pretty sure Daddy does not know yet.
I am still trying to coax the kitties into learning how to accept the love they are being offered. I waited way too long to accept love, and I want them to have long lives with love the whole time and not just at the end.
Keep the purrs coming that they will learn to trust!
Today is my 6 month anniversary at the Bridge. It seems like it was a long time ago and also like it just happened at the same time.
I love the work I do with my best friend in Heaven, Autumn. But I miss my family. My mommy still cries for me sometimes. She sleeps with my pink blankie and mean old Mouse every night!
This week has been busy with two fabulous new angels, Shep and Simi. Autumn and I love to greet new Bridge kitties. We wrap our wings around them and let them know everything is ok. Then once they get settled, they are off to angel school to learn how to fly and how to watch over their family.
It's not all work though. I do my share of shopping for the latest faboosh pink accessories at the Pink Palace. Autumn and I giggle and gossip with our other friends and have fun all day long. We roll around in the catnip fields and nap all we want. It's so nice to not feel pain when I skip around from place to place!
Well, I am off now. I will be sending extra love to my family today. Even Mouse!
