(from Tony's mom)

First thank you for all the prayers. there is no doubt in my mind that is why my sweet boy is home resting on his pillow. I am overwhelmed with the love and prayers that were sent to him! Tomorrow i will answer each paw mail and gift he recieved too, but tonight i will just tell you what happened.

this evening Tony, Sammy and Stormy were all chasing each other around the house having a great time. there was no warning at all of what was to come. and Tony except for some allergies has always been super healthy.

i heard Tony throw up and went to check, he was lying on the floor in the middle of it. i tried to pick him up and he just fell over. He started panting with his mouth open really wide and drooling (sorry sweetie) he has never done anything like that before either. his little heart was beating so fast i truly thought he would never make it to the vet.

we live out a long way and the closest emergency vet to us is an hour away. while Tony's dad called the vet and got everything ready i took Tony in the bedroom closet and lay on the floor with him and just prayed. all the other cats were trying to figure out what was wrong with him and it was making it worse so we closed ourselves in and turned off the light to calm him.

as soon as we got everything ready we headed to the vet and on the way he was still having all those problems. but as we drove his breathing eased and he closed his mouth. his heart slowed down but it was still way too fast when we got to the vet. she observed him (with me never letting him go) for about an hour and a half and by the time we left he was standing on his own again. his heart still fast but nothing like before.

she told us she suspects hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and that she thought he would be fine to take home tonight since he was so much better but to go to our vet as soon as we could for tests.

as i write Tony is resting quietly on his blanket. i ask you to please continue to pray for him. i will update his diary tomorrow. again thank you for all the prayers. i know with my whole heart that is the only reason he didn't go to the bridge tonight. Jesus answers prayers and i love you all for being such wonderfur furiends to us! love bobbie Tony's mom

Ka - zar is adding Tony to his list of mates to purr for. What happened sounded really scary and you did the right thing taking him to a vet to make sure he was ok.

Tony, we're with you and your mum all the way.

I've been very ill too, and firmly believe I'm only here because of the Power of the Paw and all the purrs I've been getting.

I'm purring for you! I hope your tests show something that can be easily treated. Love and hugs to your family. You gave them quite a fright!
